  1. I believe the climbing rope is still in roughly the same place as it previously was.
  2. Nicely done! Horrible storm, almost nothing to burn, mostly flat except for some snowdrifts... is that forlorn muskeg? =p
  3. I used him to save a couple of MREs from going into the survivor's larder. So... technically, I didn't eat him, but someone did!
  4. It really all depends on which entry point/starting point is being used for PV. Coming from the mine, following the road past the derelict cabins and crossing the bridge near Misty Cave would make the most sense. From the farmhouse or any of the other entrances? Follow the river near the farmhouse in the direction of Draft Dodgers. Once you cross to the other side, you should see the burned out hut, then can head up the new path to Burned Ridge Cave, and a quick jog to TWM.
  5. If you're at the skeeter's ridge basement (facing the door), look to your left. You should see the broken arch tree. Head toward that, and you'll go down a slope - the tie-off rock is at the bottom of the slope
  6. Seems like. It took me ~ 3 days of fishing to finally get it. Just make sure you have the carry space for it. It is... not small.
  7. Yeah, the rope is the fastest way to get to Skeeter's, but I tend to try and avoid ropes like the plague. And there have been some map edits throughout that area since those videos were made, so the previous paths may not work the same way. As @xXTacocubesXx mentioned, if you enter the crash site area, you're walled off, so as long as you don't drop down from the seating level of the plane, you're OK.
  8. I had this bug as well. Try to save your game, then completely close and restart it. Once you resume the game, it should update automatically. I hope.
  9. Yeah, the signal flare will just tell you roughly where they are - they're spawned in once the mission begins. Found 2 of them without the flare gun myself, as well. Which one are you having issues with? May be able to give some clarifying clues.
  10. I would assume bug, since I would guess that Timberwolves have a trigger capsule around them that causes players to receive a wound whenever the player crosses the capsule boundary.
  11. You don't need a rope to get to Skeeter's. From the in-game map, you can take the path immediately north of the farmstead, cross the bridge, then swing wide around the crash site, or you can take the path coming in from the north-east past the prepper's cache/hunting blind area. Just finished playing through, and didn't have to interact with a climbing rope once.
  12. Depending on the difficulty level you're playing on, the Timberwolves become just one more obstacle. There are some times that have guaranteed spawns/attacks, and you'll see them occasionally walking along through the snow... but for the non-scripted ones, they're as easy to deal with as regular wolves, just with a slightly increased perception radius. And their AI is something that you may want to play around with (save beforehand and try different things, see what happens!). Depends on what step you're on. All of the main tasks for the community center are linked, so you won't advance to the next stage of things until you have all of the survivors on the beds and have stockpiled the larder. If you've done both of those, you should just have to talk to Father Thomas to go to the next step. Note: There is an occasional bug that happens here where, when attempting to talk to Father Thomas, the camera will zoom in on his back, then reset back to normal, without a dialogue. If this happens to you, just save, close the game and re-open it, and when you load that save, the problem in the scripting will resolve itself and you'll be able to speak with him to advance.
  13. Unsure exactly what the loot distribution is for the hardest difficulty, but for the middle difficulty... I recall finding jerry cans in the prepper's cache, I think in the farmstead barn, and in at least 1 of the joplin caches. Plus, there's a crapton of individual bottles of lantern fuel scattered around. Plus, if you're desperate for the fuel, you can always go fishing at the pond. Fish == fuel.
  14. ^ This. You have a pack of things that are attempting to encircle you and charge you from behind. First step should always be to find something big and solid to put your back against, which cuts down on their ability to encircle. You now only need to deal with what's facing you - so keep your head on a swivel and watch the movement. It seems as though when one is charging you, there's often (not always, though... still trying to figure out why) a point where they'll pause and give you a ~1 second window to line up your revolver shot and fire.
  15. What details I can remember, as I've gotten them over time throughout playing.
  16. I've noticed this, yeah. Seems like the transition time between standing and crouching has been increased, though I think you're flagged as 'crouching' as soon as you hit the button - had to slip under some rocks in a cave and was immediately able to proceed even while the animation was playing. Does seem to cause some camera issues, however - had a few moments where my view was clipping through the rocks.
  17. I just got my first survivor, but am still at the crash site, so I've yet to run into any meals-on-wheels. I have, however, run into a number of them while traveling around. So far, the way I've dealt with them is to wait for one of them to charge, then shoot it in the face - same as I'd point-blank an arrow. That seems to instantly break their morale, and they run away... leaving some guts, a hide, and a few kilos of meat behind.
  18. Confirming on the user end, this seems to have fixed the problem! Appreciate you all diving in on your celebration day to deal with issues like this - definitely reinforces what we all know, that you all have a quality studio and have a sincere love for what you do.
  19. Ahh, that might do it! This computer is using Windows 7. If it helps, Episode 3 does appear to open correctly if I start a new game - opening video plays correctly, and rolls right into the game.
  20. Attempted to resume from the Dam ending for Episode 2, and after the cutscene, the screen remained black and did not progress. Loaded up the save from just before this point, made it back to the ending, and the same thing occurred. ^ Is what I see. Will we have to create a new story game to enter into Episode 3, or is my client just being stupid? Thanks!
  21. @ManicManiac, I feel like you and I can be good friends. Not only did you include the best of the Final Fantasy games, but SOMEONE ELSE REMEMBERS MEAN STREETS! Favorite OG PC Games: Basically all of the Sierra parser adventures, like the Space Quest and Hero's Quest/Quest for Glory series. Wolfenstein 3D Doom 1 & 2 Archon Mail Order Monsters Neuromancer Tunnels of Armageddon Battletech: The Crescent Hawk's Inception / Revenge Wasteland Mines of Titan Favorite NES Games: Final Fantasy (1) Dragon Warrior River City Ransom Castlevania 1-3 Super Mario 3 Favorite Genesis Games: Shadowrun Streets of Rage Gunstar Heroes Phantasy Star Series Sonic 2 Favorite SNES Games: Final Fantasy 6 (3 US) Secret of Mana / Secret of Evermore Chrono Trigger Megaman X/2/3 Super Mario RPG Star Ocean Favorite 90s/2000s PC Games: Deus Ex Fallout 1/2 Myst / Riven Command & Conquer series Castles 1 & 2 Baldur's Gate 1/2, Icewind Dale Elder Scrolls: Morrowind City of Heroes Mechwarrior 3/4 XCOM Favorite Playstation (1-4) Games: Metal Gear Solid series Xenogears Vagrant Story Yakuza series Saint's Row series Star Ocean series Assassin's Creed 2 trilogy & Black Flag Rune Factory Favorite Current Era games: Mount & Blade Deus Ex: Human Revolution & Mankind Divided Battletech Shadowrun Returns / Dragonfall / Hong Kong (if you can't tell, I love me some cyberpunk...) Probably another 200 games that I could add to this list. Sheesh. And this is why I went into games as a career...
  22. I'm going to assume that the question refers to how exactly a fish gets the 'Opened' flag?
  23. If there were some kind of craftable whetstone alternative, I feel like it should have some substantial cost to it. Perhaps something akin to a leather razor strop, requiring a moose hide to make, leather to repair. Maybe triple the time it takes to sharpen the blade, or make the strop only able to bring the blade back up to, say, 50%. There would be some people who would probably try and rush creating one on a potential long-term game, just so that they can supplement their whetstone supply (removing the need to burn whetstone uses lower than 50%), but overall, I think they would wind up being an end-game construction. Once leather comes at a premium, you'd wind up saving it as much as you would whetstones - having to wait 10 days for a hide to cure, then 10 hours to craft a satchel, then harvest it for the leather... I could see a use for it. But, as @ManicManiac stated above, the scarcity of these kinds of resources is a key part of the game. The longer you survive, the harder it should be.
  24. Err... there's a big banner at the top showing Episode 3's release on October 22. Don't know what to tell you past that.
