I simply love modding my game, especially as it relates to decorating my home base.  I've been patiently waiting for years for enhancements by the dev team and I too am eagerly awaiting the base customization updates.  That being said, I'm going to keep my expectations low as I have my reservations about how comprehensive these improvements really will be.  I suspect we'll finally be able to hang hides on the walls, maybe even be able to fix a torch in a wall sconce for lighting but I hope and pray that the improvements are really surprising.  I dunno...

Anything that gives us more to do with available material is good in my view. Besides just repairing what we already have it's nice for instance, to have more crafting options for all the skins that accumulate. But keeping expectations low is wise I think. Judging by the performance hit to the game by some mods, it's best not to raise our hopes to high.

I've been reluctant to use that mod, in anticipation of HL giving us Safehouse Customization.

The fire bug has been long fixed in CH, but panels as a basic screen from the wind is still handy. Also. The level of base customization remains to be seen. I will re-evaluate when, or if it ever happens. Besides. It's more crafting in the game as it stands. Make use of all that wood that re-spawns.

That's not the full experience of life - being close to death. So what if you loose all to one wolf? But it's your gameplay. Same as other people who has no spine and will never become men in real lfie as they can't take the risk and responsibility. Will never live life. Good luck with a main character :D

Yeah. Carry on m8. Obviously you want to provoke some sort of reaction but no. This is not the place. It's not real, it's just a game. Hope you can learn the difference someday. All the best.

  4. Looking forward to the changes to first person and the new gear for survival. No doubt my long run Loper will be visiting the new region but not without first sending in some sacrificial lambs. I'd hate to lose him to some mystical/gamey mechanic.

ooh this sounds like a very intereting challenge! i hope it doesn't go wrong

I've done it a few times in the past., so I tend to fall into a pattern after a while. It's then that I find myself cutting corners, or taking chances. Usually, something not to serious happens that brings me back to awareness. So new regions are good, I look forward to those. It means a new adventure on top of the old.

I feel like you’ll have to haul a large inventory in with you into the transfer pass, and eat EVERY ACORN AVAILABLE.

Does it have to be 100 days straight? or just a total of 100 days in each region?

It gets boring if I camp for too long so I tend to do about 25 at a time. it doesn't have to be done all in one go. I'll probably wander between regions because as you say, resources are limited in TP.

I see FA is on the list so that will help.

It's a 3-hour DLC that you would have to play through only once on Stalker to earn the badge... after that, the fact that you couldn't earn that badge on a "custom" run becomes irrelevant, doesn't it?

ETA:  After all, you probably earned all the challenge badges at whatever difficulty HL set for them (i.e. not baseline resources low or Loper)... I don't see this as very much different really.

I completed about 1/3 of the badges on Loper. The rest I earned on the other modes. I could probably do them all on Loper now but in the early days I was learning the ropes and steered clear of Loper. Besides, the rifle was cool and later the revolver. Now I love the bow, which reminds me. No Woodwright's on Loper. What's up with that?

  8. The only thing stopping me playing a Custom Loper is the fact that it would not give me the TALES: SIGNAL VOID badge on completion. That's a big problem for me. Extra loot I can deal with, one way or another but this nonsensical restriction forces me to look for ways to remove that impediment. For the sake of my sanity.

  9. Due to a bug in my Loper run, all fishing hut stove fires in CH are extinguished on a re-load or when entering/leaving structures with a loading screen. An ideal opportunity to test out the DIY mod and its panels. A wind break structure does seem to do its job in a blizzard so, combined with a campfire fishing huts are useful to me once more.

  10. It all sounds good to me. Personally, I would be more interested in future DLC for Survival and possible season passes. It would of course, depend on how long the season would last and how many updates (DLC) that would cover. Have you perhaps considered the possibility of a Lifetime Pass?

  11. As the title says. As of today ESET antivirus now thinks the main executable is malware and deletes it. Steam restores it and ESET deletes it, stuck in a loop. So for now I set ESET to ignore the main game folder. I sent a reoprt and sample to ESET for evaluation. Please can you co-ordinate with ESET to declare a False Positive.

    Thank you.

  12. Thank you ShieldHeart. Nice to see you here. I've been playing this from day 1 and am very grateful that you keep pace with the games evolution. As an ex-modder of other games myself, I know how hard it can be to keep up the enthusiasm for what you do.

    Once again. Than you.

Im probably a minority on this, but I would rather see new places to explore than new objects. If//when objects do get added, I like when they are consistent with what people on an isolated island like Great Bear might actually have around, or things that a person would end up making if they were really in this situation. For instance, if I was going to quarter an animal I would definitely build some sort of travois or sled to haul the meat. I doubt I will use the noisemakers outside of EP4, but I do think they are a good addition to the game as they are consistent with available resources and give additional protection to new or causal players.

Consider me part of the minority then. Adding, or being able to make a sled would be immensely useful. While I find the story episodes somewhat of a pleasant distraction, for me, they are still only secondary to survival mode.
