  1. This is exactly the same story of the interaction I had with my "failed to save bug - insufficient memory". After nearly a year the bug remains unfixed and my longest save is unplayable. They must have a database of scores of bugs currently many of which are very long standing...maybe they simply can't fix them ? Once the game is split in to two, Wintermute and Survival , then I sadly expect a whole slew of new bugs to be introduced on top of our existing bugs 😩 If the game wasn't my all time favorite I would have moved onward away from TLD but the delay in bug fixing and poor communication is becoming very frustrating now. I think many other fans have moved on in the last 6 stale months as the forums are now very quiet. Fingers crossed for news and effective bug fixes soon 🙏 🤞
  2. I reported the "unable to save due to Insufficient storage " bug and provided my Save file (as requested) in....Feb 2021 !! 19 months ago. I've given up 😪
  3. Thank you but still no fix for the "unable to save due to Insufficient memory" bug ? I haven't been able to play for more than 6 months in XBox on my longest save of >550 days as it simply won't save the game. This bug has been reported many times and remains unfixed. I can play new runs and they save fine. Where is the incentive to start another long run if this bug will at sometime prevent further progress? I'm beyond frustrated. You have even had my save file to help fix the issue.
  4. No fix. Still unable to play months and months and months later. So many bugs that go unfixed or resurface. I figure we are the playtesters? I can only assume the delay is due to separating Wintermute from Sandbox but one can only imagine how many new bugs will appear then....😱🙈
  5. You will find that many many items are gone... All 0% food that was left on the ground that gets transferred in to a red box goes poof ! I lost 100's of Kg of food when the red boxes were implemented. Plus any of your carefully prepared caches of food / wood etc in caves will have all been relocated to the red boxes necessitating a laborious need to move it all back to where it once was...
  6. I really do hope so as for months now I've not been able do play due to the "insufficient storage " bug on Xbox that won't allow my long run to save anymore progress...
  7. This bug is preventing any play whatsoever on my long 550 day plus run. The game won't save progress. Other newly started runs save just fine. Any news on a fix ? I'm itching to get back to The Quiet Apocalypse....
  8. Any ETA on the xbox (and other platforms) save bug fix ? My favourite game is now unplayable on my main long run as it won't save any progress ? Forums are going quiet and interest is waning as each fix seems to take a long time and there are so many bugs currently. More after each update. I'm really missing playing my all time favourite game 😪
  9. It's cheating but you can pass time for 10 hours overnight while watching / listening for an aurora to crop up ready to cancel the passing time if you hear / see an aurora. If no aurora appears then quit to desktop before saving and rinse and repeat....
  10. The "Attempt to save game failed. Check that sufficient storage is available" bug is back. I was able to play for a couple of weeks after updating to 2.00 on my long run and now it won't save my progress again. Xbox one X I thought this had been fixed... I'm wary to start a new run, plough weeks/ months in to it only to have the same issue again. It's one of the old bugs that keeps resurfacing- see this post in 2017 Many other reports of the same issue online eg Also the issue is on multiple platforms... with the likely same origin - long runs with lots of save data ?
  11. This bug seemed to have been fixed after the 2.00 update. I could play for a couple of weeks but it's back again now preventing any further progress as the game won't save. Any ideas Hinterland or anyone else ?
  12. The "Attempt to save game failed. Check that sufficient storage is available" bug is back. I was able to play for a coupe of weeks after updating to 2.00on my long run and now it won't save my progress again. I thought this had been fixed. I'm wary to start a new run, plough weeks/ months in to it only to have the same issue again. There are so many bugs in the game now 😓
  13. Digital copy. I even deleted every save other than the 1 "error" save so that there was nothing on the console other than a fresh reinstall of TLD and the one save from the cloud. 100's of Gigs free space and still the "insufficient storage" error.
  14. I did everything to try to resolve my "save failed error". I sent my XBox save file to Hinterland (at their request) and they could not help. I even factory reset my whole console and reinstalled all my games to no avail. All other games run and save perfectly so I think my console is fine and there are 100's of Gigs of space free. I am not holding my breath that my "groundhog day" save issue will be resolved with the hotfix but here's hoping.
  15. The Long Dark is easily my all time favourite game. I feel traitorous however with my following comments. The gameplay has steadily worsened over the last 2 years. The shonky wolf AI and constant bugs that occur after every new update has left me not enjoying the game in the same way. Run ending bugs have now driven me further away. Do I want to devote months of gameplay to a run to have it ended "again" by a bug ? My 550 day Xbox run is no more due to the "insufficient storage" bug and will no longer save any progress. 550 days ! In a permadeath game such bugs are immensely frustrating. Can we allow the "option" for Non Permadeath? It sound like sacrilege to suggest such a notion but as we all play the game for "ourselves" then we only have to justify it to "ourselves". Having it as an option to return to the last save after death or stick with permadeath would allow for both camps. Hardcore and casual players. As well as catering for "bug deaths". I look forward to the wonder and thrill of exploring a new region but I dread the ever-present new bugs and their run-ending implications.
  16. I even factory reset my console and reinstalled TLD so the hard drive was almost empty. No dice ☹
  17. Can I ask Hinterland that when the next hotfix is released that ALL the "prop" carcasses and corpses are replaced in all regions. I have missed so many carcasses, corpses, feathers and the items that would have been on the corpses eg keys, Polaroids etc etc☹. For a permadeath game ,with no old saves to revert to, in runs that might be years old in real time (or game time) these bugs are immensely frustrating. Not to mention my longest run of 550 days now has the "insufficient memory bug" on the XBox.
  18. Bugs...bugs... Static deer in Ravine. Didn't touch it. Slept. Went back to harvest - gone ! In a perma death game these things matter. Every new update seems to break so many things 🙄
  19. I've had the same issue on my longest X Box One save. No solution found despite Hinterland supports help - gave up and started again. Mighty frustrating after devoting such a large amount of time to a run to encounter such a crushing bug 😪 Thread here
  20. I had the same issue. Unable to resolve even with the help of Hinterland tech support. They looked at my save file etc. My longest run >500 days is now over as it will not save at all now. Started a new run - saves fine. All other games work 100% I'm guessing a corrupted save. On Xbox One X. Forced reset, deleted save and reloaded from cloud, deleted TLD and reinstalled. Even factory reset the whole console. No dice ! Interested in following in case you resolve the issue 👍
  21. So I've deleted my local game data and done a power cycle on the console. Still the save bug. Uninstalled and reinstalled the game - still the save bug. My game is 563 days long. Other smaller game files don't seem the have the save bug ie they seem to save correctly. Could this be due to the large amount of save data on a long game? I have many many gig of space on the consoles hard drive.
  22. Since the new update in getting an error when the game tries to save. I'm on Xbox One. I'd been playing for about 1.5 hours when I got a sprain. Then for the first time ever I got this error pop up. "Auto Save Failed - insufficient storage available". Each attempted save thereafter got the same error. I have lots of storage space available. Anyone else have the same issue ? 😭
  23. I'm also getting the "auto save failed. Insufficient storage available" problem. I'm on Xbox One with lots of storage available. Only became an issue since the last update 😭
