  1. They did say they will, but their more recent posts sounds like now they're not sure.
  2. I didn't read the entire thread but I think being able to just make our own recipes like in a game like Project Zomboid would be really good. PZ is in early access still, but in PZ eating delicious lentils makes you as unhappy as eating a centipede. I find it amusing to think that my character would be just as happy chomping down on a centipede as they are eating some lentils. The devs must really dislike lentils, or find centipede not too bad.

    Home

I never really had a home base when I played. Even within the same map I would have multiple places I would stay. For example in mystery lake I would typically stay in either the trapper cabin, the camp office, the other little cabin in the back, or the boxes by the dam. Which one I chose was simply the place I was close to when I wanted to sleep. That doesn't mean I wouldn't stay at any other place with a bed when that was more convenient. Home is wherever you can get your basic needs met.
  4. As someone who deals with temperatures typical in TLD I find the way clothing works to be really screwy. Wearing two hats is better than wearing one hat plus something that covers your face? No, that's not how it works at all. Anyways at least you can just look at the numbers and go by that....well, kinda....that's messed up too. /shrug
  5. Thanks for beta testing this game for me, it will make my experience better when I finally play in 2025.
  6. That video shows a little scene someone made and not much else. The room is just half a room that has been copy/pasted. There is nothing to see /shrug
  7. Having to interact with the environment like you do in Surgeon Simulator https://odysee.com/@Tekaida:7/surgeon-simulator-but-with-nigels-voice:7
  8. Invisiwalls are better, but they're really annoying. The level should just be designed well so that they're not needed at all. Don't want people to go down the hill? Make it 90 degrees or make it an overhang so there is no ground below. Or put a few of those impassable twigs in the way of the cliff so we can't get to it at all. You guys already used a few bushes to stop us from getting around in that new mountain zone.
  9. TLD should just copy the many games like STALKER where you have hotkeys, and you drag the item you want to be your '1' key into the '1' slot. Simple and effective. As to the inventory stuff, yeah. The entire UI could benefit greatly from having some work done. When I used to play the sandbox I remember painfully scrolling through stuff to start a fire while in my mind the Angry Video Game Nerd was groaning like in Earthbound. at 12:53 for those interested https://odysee.com/@Cinemassacre:b/earthbound-avgn:e
  10. I find programs like OBS are great at recording video so that you can watch it back slowly to see exactly what is happening. It's totally possible your arrows simply pass through the wolves, I've personally had that experience in another game.
  11. Inta kill boxes are awful. I remember way back when I tried (I think) the original call of duty. The insta kill boxes really bothered me and I never played another of those games again.
  12. I think the only reason there is waste when making food in our daily lives is that we have huge amounts of it and no reason to double the effort to get that last little bit. If you were at risk of dying of hunger you likely would put in the effort to not waste anything. I would at least. edit----------- Also if the finished product offers no benefit or negative benefit at the cost of effort, it's a waste of time unless you personally enjoy feeding your character lilly's pancakes. Maybe they make a pleasing sound or are relaxing or whatever. Gameplay wise though you're putting effort into hurting yourself which isn't great.
  13. It makes sense you easily have a kilo of it by day ten. If I were to go around just my block I could probably get 10 kilos in 30 mins. You could always just leave it where it is? As to preserving meat, yes it makes sense normally but I think the acid in the air prevents it. It's also why we can't preserve meat in -20, why we need to eat an entire deer in just a few days, and why even a coat in a closet rots away in a month.
  14. It's not how it works though. I looked up how much vitamin C a number of fish had to make sure and it all came back as none. I just find it strange that there are ways you could prevent scurvy in the game but they chose to do it a way that, AFAIK, does not prevent scurvy in real life. Anyways this is off topic again. It's just that I hear things about this game on the forums and I always seem to be scratching my head wondering what is going on. The longer this game is developed the less sense it makes it seems. I hope "scurvy" isn't in story mode.
  15. pulled torches are "free"...you don't need oil, you don't need cloth. Since you're making fires anyways it makes sense to make a fire before the cave, boil up the water you will need for the trip and cook any meat you gathered on the way, then grab whatever torches you need when that's ready. Also since it came up....fish cures scurvy?...geez.
  16. Censoring your own story by choice.....that's....interesting.
  17. I could come up with a good long list of improvements to TLD that I would like to see in TLD2 if that ever was made. I am also someone who has no interest in the sandbox mode and no interest in the DLC. Hinterland's reasons for what they did have been explained, but the TLDR is that they have split the project into two parts. One team is working on the story mode, the other is working on things that will bring in revenue. Wintermute will likely be finished in early 2025(at least the patched and less buggy version).
  18. I hope for good mod support too. There is a lot of good in the sandbox, it just needs some community love for it to be enjoyable for me.
  19. I never read forum rules. As to "underage" people and swearing I do not hide language from them. I don't like reinforcing that words are bad or that their bodies are disgusting and they should be ashamed. This is too off topic though and I am bringing new stuff up so this will be my last post on this subject.
  20. Swearing is simply a form of expression, in this case to express a strong feeling. At least that's how I see it being used here, the OP is very passionate about custom loot settings. Personally I am all for people being able to express their feelings accurately. Besides, people only get offended by "swearing" because they've been continuously told to be offended. It's a self manufactured offense.
  21. Yeah that's something I notice as well. More people should be aware of how deadly pain meds actually are. That being said, it is less known and it's also hard to keep track of time since it's highly accelerated so I am more forgiving of that. However at a certain point things get too far from reality and it starts to become confusing. If you have real items for use in real world situations people will go for how things work in reality. People expect to swallow a pain med pill and have it work. Our character in this game seems to be grinding them up and using them as a poultice or something.
  22. When you're throwing rocks when trying to pick up rabbits you know there is a problem. This is all over the game. Personally I find it really funny, just imagine if this were the case in real life. It's a cold and windy day. You've just gotten out of the shop and the wind is really getting to you so you take off your top layer of clothing....ahh, much warmer. You drive home but have trouble backing into the driveway because your neck just isn't working and you cannot look behind you. You get out of the car and go to pick up your bag of groceries but end up throwing your phone, smashing it on the pavement. Disappointed, you grab the bag and head to the front door but cannot step up the stairs because they are higher than 1cm. You instead walk up a snow drift and goat around the 89 degree slope trim of the house to the second floor bedroom window and go inside. You try to open the door in the room but throw the bag of groceries instead. Frustrated, you decide to chug the 2L juice you got and just to go to sleep but you never wake up. You have died of dehydration.
  23. The strangest thing about the pain meds is you have to select the specific thing when taking them or it does nothing. First time I tried using them it confused me as to why it wasn't working.
  24. strange. You would think any hard heavy object, even a random rock, would work. This whole game is bizarre though.
  25. I don't have this issue because I don't play this game currently. How hinterland thinks this game is out of early access boggles my mind. My only suggestion is to put the game down for a year and a half and look at it when they've actually finished it.
