  1. And still no new release on GoG in sight. GoG is still at v2.02! I'm so pissed. I already gave up on ever being able to buy the DLCs via GoG but to not even update the regular game anymore is a really grotty move guys.
  2. Five years later and we're still waiting... 😞
  3. It's amazing how your reply to my inquiry doesn't answer a single one of my questions... 😞 So Hinterland just continues to leave its GoG players in suspense.
  4. And again no release on GoG. GoG is still at v2.02 no matter what platform I choose. I would -- again -- like to request an official statement from Hinterland regarding its GoG players. Will we be left with the non-DLC game or will we get the chance to buy the DLCs? Or will Hinterland drop its GoG players for good which currently seems to be the course of action by Hinterland? Maybe this time we can get an official answer.
  5. So I am still waiting for the GoG store to either provide the possibility to finally buy the DLCs or at least get the non-DLC updates. GoG is still at v2.02 no matter what platform I choose. I would also like to request an official statement from Hinterland regarding its GoG players. Will we be left with the non-DLC game? Will we get the chance to buy the DLCs? Or will Hinterland drop its GoG players for good?
  6. Once the "il2cpp" issue has been sorted out, please don't forget the players who purchased TLD via GoG... I'm quite eager to buy the new DLC in GoG.
  7. Thank you SO much. I consider this very important news
  8. Hinterland: "...nearly 80% of you wanted us to begin producing paid expansion content for Survival Mode." Me: This is really great news. Please pretty please find a way for PC players to purchase these DLCs through alternative game stores (not Steam). I especially like the split of Survival Mode and Story Mode in order to have more frequent releases/updates. Oh and would it be possible to get the image with the railroad car at higher resolution so I can use it as background image? This is such a nice picture.
  9. Yay! No more z-fighting in Linux! Thank you SO much!
  10. That's quite unfortunate. I don't use Twitter so I do not have an account there and have no intention to create one. But when I tried to read the Hinterland tweets I immediately got redirected to Twitter's login/registration page.
  11. Indeed. I wonder why they neglect their own communication infrastructure that much.
  12. Hi, still playing my first Interloper run - being at day 73 right now, I just fetched the Technical Backpack three days ago and reached cooking level 5 two days ago. I decided to finally do something against the extreme cold. I still only have little good clothing and want to finally create my first bearskin coat. After I got my first bear skin from a luck shot short after I created my first bow (did a sloppy shot at a fleeing bear which hit him in the neck and he dropped dead), I now tried to do my first "real" bear hunt in TWM. So I went to the usual places where bears wander around and finally found one. And now the remarkable part begins: My first shot missed him and he ran away being scared. I ran to the spot where the arrow landed and on my way I sprained an ankle. So now being unable to run, I decided to go back to the Mountaineer's Hut but at that moment the bear walked through a tree and immediately raised up on his hind feet and started to charge me. Fearing that this might be the end of my nice first Interloper run, I shot him twice and accidentally pressed the key to crouch. Not being aware that my character is crouching I kept the "A" and "S" keys depressed, trying to put more shots into the bear (my archer skill is still at level 4 so I cannot shoot while crouching). The time it took me to realize that my character was crouching and thus being unable to shoot was enough for the bear to come close enough to maul me - but he didn't. All he did was running in the same stupid circles that I was doing while being crouched (remember, I still had the "A" and "S" key depressed and tried to shoot him). I finally stood up again with my char but still running hobbling in those circles which the bear still did as well. I somehow managed to put three more arrows into the bear after which he finally dropped dead. Now I'm sitting here in front of my PC, having a pulse beat that doesn't really feel healthy, being full of Adrenaline and still cannot believe that I survived the most dangerous situation I ever had in any TLD game I've ever played... Has anyone else ever done such a "circle dance" with a bear and has not been mauled? I still cannot believe what just happened...
  13. In case you rather prefer having a bedroll before visiting the summit, there's quite a chance to find a Bedroll in Mystery Lake.
  14. That missing key made my first Interloper run quite unpleasant in MT. I planned to craft some clothes at the nearby Workbench but with no warm shelter to go for a sleep it's very annoying to do. So I moved back to ML for now.
  15. Hi, thanks to this video I finally gave Interloper a try and already survived 38 days. The trick how to handle wolves was particularly helpful. Of course I somehow started this run a bit too enthusiastically after you said that Interloper runs won't start either in BI nor BP (which I both never visited before). I didn't even think a minute about the game probably starting in HRV (which I also never visited before) or AC. And guess what happened, the game started in AC at night but fortunately with good clear weather. Now I only visited AC twice in easier runs before so I had a bit trouble finding out where in AC I started but fortunately I made it to the Angler's Den, found two packs of matches there and that was my rescue. But it also was kinda good fortune I spawned in AC because once I had looted all the easy places there I went to TM with a short stop at the Mountaineer's Hut just to continue to PV the next day where I found very valuable clothes at the Crash Site. I must say I had quite more trouble getting the bow and arrows than you had in your video, although I found three heavy hammers and two hacksaws before I could finally visit the forge in FM. The weather in Interloper is really cruel sometimes with lots and lots of blizzards. That and the constant need for more food was a real struggle. Guess who couldn't keep the Well Fed bonus for long 😆 Right now I am in MT waiting for some hides to cure so I can craft some clothes before I am going to re-visit TM for the summit and later AC for the Technical Backpack. I wish I had found a Moose already...
  16. I can confirm the disappearing limbs and sticks bug. Still present in v1.99. Quite annoying but fortunately they reappear.
  17. So, after being very happy that GoG provided v1.98 for linux at the day of its release announcement, disappointement kicked in quite soon after installation and startup of the "new" version. That is because the the_long_dark_1_98_52027.sh file that GoG provides does not contain v1.98 of the game but rather v1.95. This becomes visible once the selection menu of the game appears where you can read "Build # 1.95 83861 G" in the upper left corner and as a result, Blackrock region is not available in Survival Mode. Of course I checked that this is not a mistake on my side. I re-installed the game twice from the the_long_dark_1_98_52027.sh installation file and even re-downloaded the very same file from GoG but to no avail. Running sha256sum on both downloaded files had the same checksum: > sha256sum ~/downloads/GoG/the_long_dark_1_98_52027.sh | cut -d ' ' -f 1 af20b279dd55c3f13b33b4b4463fea77dbaebe8ee848cc0c8241b296a91f41f9 So dear Hinterland team, what to do now? I'd like to play at Blackrock region in Survival Mode. P.S.: I don't have a Steam account just in case someone wants to suggest downloading the game from there.
  18. v1.95 available on GoG. Thank you Hinterland 🙂
  19. Since yesterday, GoG finally provides v1.93 for Linux users.
  20. Not for Linux (again) unfortunately. Oh how I despise GoG these days... 😞
  21. For the record, latest Linux version at GoG is still v1.86 😞
  22. The Linux version at GoG is still v1.86. I'm so pissed right now. I know Hinterland is not to blame but I have to vent off some steam somewhere. GoG even ignores the ticket I have filed. I wish there was some other service (not Steam!) where I can buy TLD for Linux PC from... I would buy it a third time just for more regular more reliable updates.
  23. I've already filed a gog support ticket regarding the missing updates on November 30th. No reply received yet.
