  1. The sewing kit that spawns kind of under a plank in the broken house on the hill above Forager's Remnant in Blackrock is not clickable, and therefore you cannot pick it up. When you try to mouse over it, there is no reticle highlight so it appears that the wood debris is conflicting with the "hitbox" of the sewing kit. Sucks because it would've been my first sewing kit in the run and they are always much needed in Blackrock lol.

  2. Hello everyone!

Just wanted to bring to everyone's attention some details I just noticed on the Hinterland website. They are currently hiring for a position called "Systems Designer (CO-OP, ONLINE, NEW IP)" The job description says this role is for an unannounced project. They must be familiar and have experience with creating co-op survival gaming experiences. Take a look at the position listing here: https://hinterlandgames.com/careers/systems-designer

I am excited and happy to hear that Hinterland is aiming to make our wishes come true! Soon enough we will be able to be alone... together! Who knows what kinds of doors this will open for the future of the game! I am still holding out for a Battle Royale mode lol. What are your thoughts?

  3. Did you previously have a 32 bit version of the game installed?

If I may ask, why stick with a 32 bit system rather than upgrading to 64 bit? Just using older 32 bit hardware? It's hard to play today's games with outdated tech, but if you're not looking to upgrade to 64 bit, there might still be another way to make it work.

Hmm bummer, I thought I remembered that all three remaining episodes will be released this year but according to the official FAQ that's wishfull memory :D

So maybe we get 2 out of 3 this year, depends on how much they will let the feedback provided so far influence the future episodes (like full audio dialogs which I hope for more than anything).

It would be very interesting if we got full-audio dialogue. By that, I assume you mean every speech interaction is animated, voice acted, and lip-synced. But then I would expect to see this feature in the first two episodes as well, as it would look out of place to just suddenly have that when you didn't before.

I would like to see Jerry on the good side, because th is a trapper's cabin is one of my favorite places in the whole game. I think he tried to help Will and motivated him to learn new things, so he could survive.

That's what J said when Will asked why he had him do all those things first. "First, I needed to be sure you'd make it."

D'oh, I forgot that was on the radial! Ah, I get it now. But wouldn't they get far enough away to change out of "panic and flee" mode to come right back and attack you? Or does the panic when they're bleeding out just last until they die? In which case, would this be safe to do to a bear, I wonder? 'Course, now that I think about it, I've never seen a bear flee... just charge in anger, and stroll away in boredom.

It doesn't take as long as you might think for them to die while using Pass Time. They won't get very far. With wolves I've seen them run right past me while fleeing. Then they eventually slow down to a walk, before falling over dead. No attacking. Bears, however...I'm not so sure. Try it on a fleeing bear after shooting him a couple times, and see what happens.

A bear will usually flee when shot from behind. When you're facing his front or side where he can immediately detect you, he'll most likely charge. So shoot his butt! The bear fleeing sound is quite cute actually. Sounds like "roWArr!??"  or they just make a little scared cub sound.

How do you pass time without putting down your bedroll? Or do you whip out your roll, throw it on the ground, and then pass time on it for the hour? And does this actually keep them from dying farther away from you --like, do they stop moving while you pass time, so are just dead in the spot you last saw them when you come out of it? Because that would be amazing and I definitely need to start doing this if that's how it works!

Pass time without your bedroll by going to the radial menu, selecting Campcraft, then selecting the deck of cards. Easy as that!

I believe they do continue to move while time is passing, yet only as fast as they were going in real time. They don't suddenly speed up or anything. So just keep them in your view as they bleed out at hyperspeed!

  8. Aside from looking for crows over areas where I know there is not usually a carcass/corpse, I sometimes just Pass Time for an hour or two until the animal bleeds out and dies. During this time the animal obviously does not move any faster, so this just speeds up the dying process while they're still within your sights.

  9. I was on Pilgrim. Forgot about "predators will not attack, unless prevoked." Shot a bear, thinking I could one-hit kill him like I did my first bear. Nope. After being pummeled to within an inch of my life, I figured, well surely a second shot will put him down! Nope, again. I bled out. And that was the end of my longest save, about 145 days. Had just made it the the summit of TM the day prior, too.
