  1. I will be playing more Voyager, but I think Im gonna stop writing about everything. Just in case something interesting starts happening.

I also like to play Interloper on occasion, I think its not "more boring", it is just not a mode where you really expect to get into that "late game" scenario, its lot more focused on survival, rather then "living with the land", even in the later part of the game.

Yes, there are things that I like about a mode of game and others about the other one. You said you like looting... well, in my case I prefer more challenging looting (don't forget is an 'abandoned' land) but with Voyager settings I think it is not (in my last game I found like 8 or 9 pairs of trail boots lol) but playing in high difficulties I don't enjoy being spotted and attacked frequently. Maybe I'll try with the custom settings as you said.

Yea, I dont like it either, but especially with Voyager settings, it is not that difficult to learn how to avoid predators so you almost never get into trouble. While I dont enjoy getting noticed either, it makes the game more interesting and challenging, trying to sneak by past them. I dont really up the "smelliness" meter setting that much, because I think they are already pretty nuclear about that already - but I do like to try and sneak past them, knowing they would see me from further away.

Also makes stone throwing of rabbits actually present a bit of a challenge... as you can othervise almost step on them before they start running.

  2. I am thinking of doing a forum series on "the mysteries of the Great Bear", which would focus on the mysterious and unexplained of the island, as well as on some conspiracy theories as to the nature of individual locations, events, or other phenomena of The Long dark.

I have many things in my mind, and wonder about plenty of things as I sip the reishi tea in the evening.

Things like - where the Blackrock prison is located on the island? To whom did the bones found in Forlorn Muskeg belong to? Why is there a constant winter on the island, even if we see indication that there were farms before... any many more.

I have great many theories and would love to discuss them with my fellow forum members.

Might call it Crazy Prepper´s Ted Conspiracy theories.

I think this would be cool, we could all come together to point out mysteries we have found and in the process maybe discover new things about that game we hadn't before. One of my favorite posts lately in this regard was about how the logging business worked on the island and how the railway played a part in it based on clues with the wreck of the train cars and logs all around the island.

  3. Hey mate.
Noticed on this thread that you thought this forum doesnt allow signatures. It does.
There is an option for "account settings" in the top right corner where your name is.
To speed things up a bit, here is a link:
    http://www.hinterlandforums.com/settings/signature/
It is pretty limited which I think is a good thing, but yea, you can set up a signature if you want it.
Thought you might want to know.

Hey, no problem, glad to help! It took me a bit to find it, but I have recently been dabbing around with many forum settings and there is a lot of cool stuff I feel like people dont know about at all. Things like this Index pages for individual forumers, the ability to follow others and not just topics, many awesome profile settings.

I only know it was possible to add signatures because I remembered one person had it set - so I tried looking for it, and found it in the account settings. :D

Time to set up mine as well! :D

  4. I have done a very bad thing earlier today. Ive done something awful, like in the past. I deserve a punishment. If I am no longer active, that is what happened - it would mean I have gotten myself banned once again, for my big, unwashed mouth.

But I have faith everything will go well.

    1. Mroz4k

      Mroz4k

That would have never been my style, but there was never a reason to worry, I think. As much as I deserve to be punished, I am even more motivated to make these forums even better, friendlier place for everyone.

I propose we shan't lay low, instead, take it all on, and make these forums better then they were yesterday. :)

  5. Way home progressing worse then expected. When I reached Coastal, a blizzard broke out. In my confidence I started walking towards where a fishing cabin Id expect to be... but I got lost on the ice and kept walking in circles. When I finally got my bearings straight and aimed properly at the hut, the blizzard died out... but most of my clothes were getting frozen, and my condition was at half. No time to wait - reached the cabin, made a fire using up all I had left (including all my coal reserves) and drank a tea for condition recovery. Then, 6 hour sleep. My fire was about to go out, but I was dry and well recovered. 2 more hours for good measure.

Spent the rest of the day, slowly sludging from fishing cabin to cabin, looking for the fishing book. Found it in the 4th one. Short stop by Jackrabbit´s to drop off all the high condition processed food inside, and went on for more looting. Wanted to loot a car at the other end of Highway because of a chance for Frontier´s book in there. But stopped right in time... and backed away quickly... as from behind the hill of the highway out came up a big, bad bear... so I diverted around, looted the cabin above Fishing village, turned back for the car (no book), and now I am slowly sludging up the Bear´s creek, with intention to spend a night in the cabin at Rabbit grove above the campsite. Tommorow will be my route up the route, over the Trestle and through the ravine home to the Office. If all goes well, by tommorow´s evening I shall be back home in the safety of my main base.

  6. On continues my Voyager journey.

Last time, I bagged a bear with a single arrow headshot, processed it and prepped for a move back to my main base of operations at Camp Office. I loaded up on the gear I brought from the Milton park office, both bear rugs, one which was now cured and the other quite fresh, and a good chunk of bear meat, too. I knew Id look tasty to all predators but figured I could get by and shoot whatever comes my way.

Despite seeing the wolf well in advance, I lost a sight of him, and as I was prepping to deal with him, he ambushed me from behind. Took the most chunk out of me... makes me wonder if predators do more damage the smellier you are... could very well be... more "motivated" to kill you, I suppose. Either way, some swings win a hatchet and it runs off, but not before damaging ALL of my clothes by a significant bit, and taking out about 30% of my condition. Considering I had highly protective gear on and was at full strenght, this was odd.

Made it to Office without other altrications, except for spraining ALL the limbs, even the ones I did not know I had...

Next morning after, I reorganized my bookshelf collection of survival knowledge, that I have acquired so far:
    20190423114301_1.thumb.jpg.11bfc4004c8c2a3f8169890f1ea60884.jpg
On the left are books, already finished. I like to keep them anyway for nostalgia reasons. On the right are the ones I am working on right now. All in all, the early quick-run through the majority of world´s locations is paying off - I can obtain this knowledge from books mostly, without having to ruin a lot of game´s tools and wasting the fire materials on practising them.

I have yet to visit some locations in Pleasant Valley with possible book treasures, then the Coal mine, all the coast regions and the train trestle ravine connector. Meaning there is still a potential of obtaining some 20 more books out there. There could also be more books in Forlorn Muskeg or Milton region, but I am unsure if I discover those before reaching level 5 with most skills already. Might require deeper dive to find those.

I am not satisfied with my amount of rifle books yet. I would ideally like to obtain the level 5 skill without firing the rifle once. For that, I will need more advanced gun books. Luckily, I believe Coastal region, Desolation point, and maybe even the bottom of Ravine in connector might hold these valuable texts. I hope so, for more Frontier guides is not going to help me much, past level 3 they do not offer any more insights into firing a rifle.

That said, I never really use rifle, so I can wait till Ive properly looted the entirety of the world anyway.

20190423115749_1.thumb.jpg.8cd1af103ff2e51097f3fb11a453ad0b.jpgCurrent look on my stats, with more reading to do, still. Carcass harvesting will probably go over level 5 before I discover all the books that help with this skill, sadly. Same may apply for cooking and firestarting by this point, and maybe even Archery. But I made good use of books on these skills so Im satisfied.

Not finding a lot of the mending books. Id rather hope for those instead of the carcass harvesting ones, but Id even rather get the advanced gun ones instead.

Day 48. For some reason my achievement progress for silent hunter is not increasing, but it might be an issue that will only account as soon as Id die, since Im still alive, I will hope I get the achievement after crossing the 50 day treshold.

Water supplier are running low. So, that means firewood duty this evening. Wanna conserve the coal reserves for now because I have more traveling to do, and I wanna make a bigger stockpile at the forge later, too. Will use some but for now, Id prefer to stock up on sticks.

Made my way up to the rabbit grove on the peak above Office, my favorite spot to get some quick wood since the path there is quick & safe. I see rabbits hopping around. Hmm, gut supplies running a bit low. I pick up the stone, determined to bag this little bugger.

Well aimed throw and the rabbit is in my hands. At last moment, I realized that I had bagged a bear earlier, and have now 10 guts curing at the Trappers.

Off you go, little one, be free and have many babies next time I come around to claim your lives.20190423121638_1.thumb.jpg.7f06cece2039d018659583f39c857c22.jpg

  7. Voyager continues!

Not sure where I left off, but at day 52 Ive spend most of that, running through the PV, trying to reach the mystic campsite and the cavern, because I believed it might have a skill book for me. The morning I started at the Radio tower, and since I brought a rope with me from the Ravine´s train, I deployed it on the rock behind the tower and climbed down. Normally a futile task, but there is a corpse mid-way there usually, and sometimes has a backpack with a skill book in it. No luck this time. Ive traveled up the road to the long curve, but nothing of interest there. Ive heard a bear as the wind picked up, but could not see it - so I quickly removed myself from that area. After a brief stop by the lonely cabin, I made my way up the other part of the path towards TWM. I was nervous because of the bear that resides there, but luckily, a blizzard took off and i was able to pass with relative safety, altough a bit of a discomfort. Sadly, in the low visibility I lost my bearing and didnt find the point of dissagreement. Ive reached the mystic cave, though - another bow, an arrow, but no skill book, and a rifle outside. Havent seen many rifles this game but I know of a few in case I need to go grab one. Spend the night in a cave by the nice fire. Got jumped by a wolf outside in the morning. Damn, these bastards bite... took down about 20% of my condition, not bad for the fact I have pretty sturdy clothes on... (by not bad, I mean it hurt quite a bit). I stopped by the Preppers hatch to drop off some heavy items there, and continued on. Took a short nap, too, to regain some extra fatigue and condition in case I got into more struggles as I continue on.

Day 53 is now ongoing. To shorten it up - I found the rope by the Skeeter edge, but I laughed at the prospect of climbing it down. I instead expertly climbed down the ledge next to it - took me less time, no fatigue drain and I took no fall damage. For once, I didnt even sprain anything.

The weather got windy, but no worries. Heavy snowfall, gotta be carefull. This soon turned to Blizzard. Eventually I got into the Barn. I decided to take advantage of the blizzard´s savety and visited the "bear country" - the birch forest behind the barn. Then I cut through to the Derelict cabins as I started losing condition from the freezing. At Derelicts, Ive build a fire to warm up. I put on two hours worth of fuel, and I dropped a can of peaches NEXT to the fire (not actually on the top). Then I went for 2 hour long sleep. When I woke up, I have a toasty can O peaches waiting to fill my stomach.

The plan now is to get to the car at the End of the road, and then make it to the mine connector to Coastal Highway, where I plan to spend the night and recover a bit.

    1. XaldinVii

      XaldinVii

It is interesting you brought up the bears on both routes because up until the last two interlopers I played I had not seen bears in either the path by the lonely cabin or in the birch forest. I always like the trek thru the birch forest and take the slightly longer way to TWM as I found the forest beautiful. (Always had a thing for birch trees). But now I am hesitant as in my first interloper game last week I almost walked into a bear I didn't see at night in that forest.

    2. Mroz4k

      Mroz4k

My experience is I almost always encounter a bear in the den at that path, which is why I usually take the longer route around the Three strikes. And with the birch forest it is kind of a 50/50, with the bear, being there. Also, since my game started at TWM, I already passed through the PV before, taking the route to Three strikes and the bear that has a den there was not spawned in there. Nor have I encountered the one by the Radio tower area. With these two spawns out of the running, each area with bear potential is an increased risk that it will actually have a bear. I prefer to take as least risks as possible, especially after my two close calls at Forlorn Muskeg couple of ingame days back :D although now I have gotten silent hunter achievement, so if I encounter a bear, now I can use my Bear killer gun, the distress pistol, and light them up if it comes down to a fight. :D

I get your feeling about the birch trees, I have the same kind of a fascination by them. Which is probably why I like to go to the Deer hunting ground in Ravine, or spend time at Marsh ridge at Forlorn Muskeg.

I havent seen a single bear at PV yet, but I certainly heard one, somewhere around the area of that ruined shack some distance from the Farm. Im guessing this means that the cave in the middle western corner of the map has a bear in it. Id expect two to three bears per PV, that is one, and I have cleared three other possible locations, so right now the danger of visiting another bear potential location increases.

  8. Gonna be probably quiet for next couple of days. Visiting family in a neighbour country, not sure how much access to the internet I shall have.

    1. Mroz4k

      Mroz4k

Actually, in the end I didnt go, the family did but without me. Not feeling very well, feeling sick, too sick to handle the 6 hour long car ride over there. Will visit em during the summer after exams.

  9. Been playing a lot of Skyrim Special edition with mods, a lot of em are hunting related mods, I felt like playing a more RPG centered game and add survival aspects to it to make it more realistic, yet still let it remain a magical RPG :D

Gotta love all the hunting mods that exist for it. I love TLD, but right now, the amount of mod content that Skyrim has allows me to get more satisfaction in there. I do plan to come back to TLD eventually of course :D

    1. XaldinVii

      XaldinVii

I know the feeling. I take breaks form TLD but always come back to it after a couple months. I am currently on a break from it now, even though all the new content came out, playing a second play thru of RDR2 and I also find myself hunting a lot in the game. That illusive Moose gets me in RDR2 as much as TLD, still haven't bag me one yet for the antlers for the camp...

  10. Back to the Voyager time!

So, last night, I paused the game while in the cave with blizzard raging on, then fell asleep after a long IRL session of cooking, now I am continuing on!

After warming up a bit in the shelter, Ive decided to press on through the blizzard, regardless of the condition hit. Ive reached the other cave, by my favorite hunting spot, and seeing as how my meat reserves have been almost depleted, I decided to wait with my "return" to Camp office, and instead spend two nights and whole day in the ravine cave, hunting, processing my hunting spoils, cooking up some extra steaks and preparing for a more stationary survival from now on. For that, I will need to have some supplies of food, fuel and of different hides.

This place is always teeming with deer that are fairly safe to hunt, and should not be that big of a problem to carry over to camp Office, if I clear the road from all the predators that would othervise interfere (and incidentally, add them to my food & hide reserves as well). This is going to be my plan after I have finished my stay in this ravine cave, resting up & sorting through the hunts.

It is first night of my stay here at ravine. Ive got out of practise, I must say... although in the end, I managed to get all three deer living here, the last one was quite elusive and took 2 graze shots before I was finally able to hit its heart and finally put an end to the chase. I have also caught a couple of rabbits - while I dont need them per say, I will need to spend whole day here in the Ravine to rest next night and then on the morning of second day, get on my way towards the Camp office and during my travel, clear all the predators out of the way so that I can proceed in carrying my hunt spoils over.

  11. So did a couple more runs of Voyageur, moved forward a little bit.

After passing through the coal mine, I got up on the other side. Found a skill book there. It was still a blizzard so I decided to push through to the Lookout. Lookout had nothing of significance. I quickly climbed down to the level of highway, and headed straight for gas station, taking advantage of the blizzard. Inside I found another sewing primer book! Next was Misanthrope. There I also found a skill book, and Ive decided to try and loot the Desolation point next. The Commuters lament had the car as per usual, there I dropped off all the unnecesary gear, and by the evening I have entered the crumbling highway.

Dettered a wolf on my way through, Ive managed to get into the basement. Another book there, another Sewing primer. The night begins and I push onward to the coal mine, with intention to rest there. And so it happens.

Next day I drop extra gear at the mine (I will pass through here on the way back anyways, so I can pick it up then) and go loot the DP. I spend next three days here, searching through DP for valuables. Amazing finds! Frontier book, a book on fishing and another sewing primer. During my search through Rikken, a bear suprised me, so I went through the ship on board, and shot it from the safety of higher ground straight into the head. It ran off and I decided to read a book to let it bleed out.

I didnt check my statistics, because for some strange reason, this bear survived... my arrow broke on contact with its skull. Yet, the bear was nowhere to be found. Later on, when I looted through the other locations, I heard bear sounds a couple of times, but not knowing the bear survived, I chalked it to my imagination. Didnt see it again afterward. I paid a visit to the Wolf den, hoping for a book, but no luck there. Suprisingly, there was no longer that skull with antlers there... There was just a single inhabitant in this time. I saw it for a glimpse of second after entering the second hall, and it went back into the main hall. I realized following it would not be wise, so I made a fire, picked a stone up and threw it at the end of the corridor straight ahead of me. Wolf was baited in, when it saw me, it charged.

    Thump.

One shot straight in between its eyes, the beast perished into the long dark.
    20190427165119_1.thumb.jpg.883c5aba811aa11e3442cff8d1414afd.jpg

After almost three days spent in this forsaken place that is Desolation point, it was time to pack up my belongings and leave back for home. The next plan is to slowly move my way over to the Camp Office in next two days, after I checked a couple of more places that could still hold some survival knowledge. This last few checks will conclude the "soft loot" of the entire world, where I mostly focused on looting just the items found outside the containers, focusing mostly on survival knowledge.

    1. Mroz4k

      Mroz4k

After this, it will be time to finish up my survival knowledge and hone up my primal skills and this time start focusing on actually "living" for a while, hunting, building up some minor stores of different hides, fixing up my equipment and create stores for survival. After that, I will start building my safety net of creating outposts and survival caches to help with my next goal - finishing the full loot of the whole world, and start mapping up regions to get to the achievement for maps.

  12. Here are the "lyrics" to Elegy, the visual poem of Long Dark, pretty sure yall know what I am talking about. I needed to write them down for a reason I wont say right now :)

    Do you remember?

The steady thrum of the city´s heartbeat.

    Technology
Always pumping lifeblood to thousand, now dead industries

    Industry,
now erect husk on a long forgotten shore

    Remember the sky?
    The light with beautiful fire,
Skies so bright that you forgot stars even existed,
But the stars, they didnt forget us.

What kind of survivor were you?

Did you walk the expanse of the nature, feel the wind burning your soul?
Did it remind you who you were?
    Did it shape you?
    Did it break you?
How did you keeo breathing when it took everything you knew and loved? Did you survive with compassion? Did you remember truth of humanity? Did you survive for yourself alone? Did you revel in the solitude? Did you hunger for connection?

Did you seek out others, and could you save them? Could you save yourself?

Did you hold under the promises of old men after their fires died out?
Did you hear their voices echo in your head as you face the wrath of nature that they ignored? Unleashed?

Did you settle into the silence?

Did you crawl into it, whimpering?

Did it crush you? Did you embrace it?

Did you remember the power you could summon?
    It flowed through the wires
A ghost in the machine, a Trojan Horse
    Our glory, our servant
    Our doom

Did you stare at the sun, the moon, the wind, your constant companion?
Do you remember yesterday? What is tomorrow?
How will you face this quiet apocalypse?
Where were you, when the lights went out?

How far will you go, to survive...

    The long dark...

no problem, I needed them for a little project actually XD
I couldnt find the text written down anywhere, so I wrote it down, and since I did, might as well post em here :D

  13. I rely on you, friends :D If I am going to act like an ass on the forums, please be sure to correct me ASAP. I will be most grateful for that.

That said, I will try my best to be the warm and cuddly bear I usually am :)

    1. Ghosty 1944

      Ghosty 1944

In the Canadian wilderness there is no such thing as a cuddly bear... Jk I feel you man we all get ahead of our selves some times.

  14. I give up. Time to make some pasta to satisfy my need to feed, tortillas tommorow :D

    1. Mroz4k

      Mroz4k

Was playing TLD, forgot I was cooking pasta till I hear it bubbling agresivelly... overcooked the pasta a bit, but its still great!

So, overcooked pasta & dogs, melted cheese and onions. If there ever was a white trash version to a breakfast of the champions, this would be it! :D How fitting for me :D

  15. Succesfully I reached the den, as the fog began to lift, I finally dared to look over my shoulder, to learn if I was about to die. The bear was nowhere to be seen. My distraction must have worked, then.

I progressed over the tree trunks, nervously looking over at the den. No bear. Muskeg bears, it must be something that makes them just so... evil. What if that spawn of hell decides to cut me off?

In the end, I could not handle the idea the the bear will be waiting for me at the Spences - so as I passed by the broken radio tower, Ive diverted into the cave to spend the rest of the night there.

In the morning, on my way to spence I was jumped by a wolf. No bait, so I missed my arrow on approach. Still, took one strong swing with the hatchet and the wolf ran off. As I reached Spence, the wolf accompanied me, and died right by the entrance. So I took its steaks, they will be a welcomed snack for when I return here to forge more arrowheads one day.

After a short pause at Spence and a quick nap, off I go by the barrel shack. Destination high blind. Stopped by the peanut butter rock - and was rewarded by peanut butter. The high blind had a very used bow, and an arrow - a welcomed change. The cave earlier had a skill book, and so did the spence... which puts my overal amount of survival knowledge very high... I will have to take it easy in the Camp office again for a while, read up on all of it. Not to mention the extra books, waiting for me in Milton park office.

All in all, life is good!

    1. Mroz4k

      Mroz4k

Spoke too soon. As Ive stopped by the Trappers camp, with nothing of worth then a couple of bullets, Ive made my way home, to Camp office... when a high windstorm broke out. No worries... as Ive expended the rest of my energy on a quick, short run. I will be home before long...

      There IT was.

A bear. Another bear. Another spawn of hell muskeg bear. Straight in my path. Going straight toward me.

The old drill. Immidiatedly I diverted into a path of a wolf-pack - them I would deal with rather then that spawn of hell... and dropped my new fresh baits. The distraction once again worked, and I was able to avoid that beast with a wide circle. The wolves left me alone - I think we all in secret agreed on a truce, none of us were in particular rush to get the attention of that hellish spawn.

Now, I am limping towards the Mystery lake, and sun slowly sets...

      20190421210126_1.jpg

  16. Apologies for my previous status updates. Sometime mid-second song I realized I could get myself into trouble, doing this. After my next two exams, I just might create a little website and maybe even channel where Id post such things. But its probably better not to do it here.

  17. My plan to collect up the hunt has went well at first. After my 2nd night at Ravine ended, I started walking towards home with full backpack of my gear from Coastal & Desolation point, and a couple of fresh deer steaks as well. More of cooked & uncooked meat was waiting at me by the entrance of the cave at Ravine connector subregion.

The way to clear the road went okay, too. Two wolves decided to step in my way - they both ended up dead. One was killed and quartered right away by the trailer camp in front of the Dam. The other from derailment got arrow stuck in the side, and whimpered away somewhere into the hills. I shall go searching for it in the next day. By roughly 2 PM, I arrived safely to the Office.

I quickly removed much of my loot, even took off some of my clothes - to travel lightly. I still took my bow, arrows, tools and bedroll - one never knows... On the way back to Ravine Deer cave Ive collected sticks to build up my hunting spot fire making reserves. I stored these sticks into the backpack in the rabbit grove in Ravine subregion. By around 5 PM, I was back at my hunting spot, very tired.

Took a 2 hour nap, loaded all the meat (roughly 24 kg of it) and went on the way home to the Camp Office. As I was passing the quarters of the wolf and stepped on the bridge by the dam, the sun hid behind the mountains, and I noticed a strange shapes in the sky.

    Of course.

Aurora. Havent seen one in 10 days while traveling, and now when I carry three worths of deer meat, all of sudden here it is.

Okay. Change of plans. Spending the night at the Dam - dropped the meat, and took & processed the quarters of the wolf, as well as an old deer carcass that was still lying there (despite it being a day of 60 or so). Surprisingly, the meat of the deer was still sorta edible, so I cooked a liter of water and this deer steak, as I watched from the safety of the fence the aurora descending20190428153429_1.thumb.jpg.7a4cbd71dcba100c9f1e9e8f8ae42853.jpg in all its frightening glory...

  18. Next morning it was windy, but not a single living thing. The music also stopped. Just dead quiet, my steps and wind blowing. I safely made it to the Office with my load of meat. I was pretty well rested still, so I used the rest of the day, looking for the runaway wolf. So I at least collected some sticks. Gonna try again tommorow. In the evening I finished my last cooking book, and read a bit of sewing primer by the moonlight, till the midnight came and I went to rest up.

Next morning I spent looking for the wolf, unsuccesfully. The weather was not very cooperative. Still, I scouted most of the general area where Id expect the wolf to die, and no luck. It could have probably ran a lot further then Id think...

During my travels, however, I have literally stumbed upon a Preppers hatch! A lot of very useful, valuable equipment was in there. Even though I dont expect to use it any time soon, I took one of the rifles found there with me, to carry it home to the Office. Took basically everything else. In the evening, I did more studying, and went to bed - determined that the arrow I left lodged in the wolf is now gone forever, till maybe I randomly stumble upon it ages later. I guess this means I will have to go forge some new ones.

Although the Muskeg in this game is very deadly, I think I will travel to the forge there next, but not anytime soon. Both of my bear skins are now cured, which means I may start working on a new piece of equipment.

I am deliberating whether to craft a bedroll, or a coat. Most likely I will go with the coat, though.

  19. No coat time just yet. Turns out that when I left for the trip, Ive used up the last of my cured guts. Im certain Trappers have some cured, but I will have to first make a trip over there... which is the goal for tommorow. Today, we are finishing up on all the relevant survival knowledge. Ive finished level 3 mending, the books helped a lot - already almost half way to getting level 4. This should help with keeping my equipment in tip-top shape without having to waste an awful lot of materials.

Ive arranged my gun related skill books neatly on the desk - while I dont need them yet, they can wait for me there.

Still wish Id find more. There is still some potential left in Pleasant Valley, I think, and definitedly in Forlorn Muskeg. Too bad the latter is so dangerous... yet I may chance a trip there anyway, in case I need to forge, or at least get a decent supply of Coal from a close-by spot.

Which also constitutes my side-goal for tommorow´s trip to Trappers - to visit the cave there and collect on some Coal supplies.

  20. Ive recently had an inkling to go play a game I used to play during my childhood, the Heroes of might and magic 4 - and beat some of the campaigns in there. That is why my appearance on the forums dropped after the release of Steadfast Ranger. I guess it was a good thing for my new survival game for achievements, because I think that by now, the most glaring issues with the new release would be at least toned down. I had a craving to play some Long Dark today, so Imma go do that.

  21. :D
Thank you for the follow. Looking forward to chatting with ya, if you are ever up for it :) Dont be affraid to shoot me a message on my Forum index page, or even send in a private message, about anything.

  22. Hello friends.

It is with heavy heart that I have to say, I expect that I will be banned within next few days, for my post in here. Here it is in a quote:

Walking around this unnecessary argument, Id like to return back to the topic at hand. :)

I have much to say about this, I could get into how this suggestion suggests a weapon that would have quite possibly more features than the recently added Revolver, which is a weapon that has been on the development shelf since alpha (the files existed for it since long before Story mode). While I agree the feature of wind-dependent weapon is very interesting, I don't believe it is worth the great amount of work it would have to be put into it to see it added. Because, lets take a look at what is actualy important - game relevance:

This weapon game-wise is almost entirely identical to Distress pistol in what it does. It is a mid-to-close defensive weapon which is light to carry, designed to scare the animal away instead of actually killing it (before you argument that Distress pistol can kill, I think its safe to say it is not intended to, only as a "one in a thousand" kinda shot, sadly most people are so proficient with the gun that they developed hunting techniques to use distress pistol. If anything, I would rather the devs removed this feature from the Distress pistol instead, make it 100% non-lethal, because it would make the game more challenging). The only "relevant difference" I would see in this Bear spray and the Distress Pistol is that Bear Spray comes in pre-loaded with 2 shots, and the wind feature with added conditions (condition pain is fine cause it is already in the game, I imagine the added visual blur would be treated by potable water, to wash out the irritant from the eyes). The loper argument is moot because Distress Pistol spawns in Interloper as well.

I also suspect that most of you have realized this weapon idea is basically a copy of Distress Pistol but no one said anything out of fear. Pity what this place has become.

As you can see (in case it gets removed), I doubt there is anything less passive then what I wrote, yet if you are reading this and I havent been to forums for a couple of days, it means that this got me banned.

I refuse to be threathened by a ban in what I can or cannot express on these forums anymore. I imagine there are a lot of people who feel exactly the same way. I just hope, that in case I get banned for this, that there will be someone brave and inspired who will stand up for this community in my stead. Against all the nasty shit that has been plaguing these forums since before the Ranger update, and all that threatens the very core of what this community stands for.

Know that all I ever did on these forums was out of love for all of you, my fellow community. I never had any authority here (contrary to what the Staff would like to portray me as), but I had earned a lot of influence here, because of the respect you have all given me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for it, it has been my greatest honor.

If I get executed, it is my last wish that someone within this community takes over my mantle, and watches out for the interests of this community.  We may not have authority, but we can become influencers on these forums, and with that influence, born of respect by your fellow community members, you have the tools to protect them, in our own, unofficial kind of way. You have my blessing to do so.

  23. Should you need to contact me for whatever case, you can usually find me these days on my Steam account Mroz4k. In case you dont have Steam, you can also try your luck at Twitter, also Mroz4k, albeit I have not spend a lot of time these in these past few months. I do check in there from time to time.

  24. I havent really been around the forums for a long time. I am certain I would not be welcomed. There was a time I was putting together a case with proof case-to-point to point out to most of the subtle manipulating that has been going on for a while, at least at the time.

Then my exams hit and I just did not have the time to keep up. Well, exams are over, yet I still feel no desire to return because I would likely not feel welcomed anymore.

I am content with how much I did for the community, even if it were behind the scenes and never recognized, getting credit for it was never important to me. Making the community better was. And even if there are those in here now who perverse that to boost their own egos, I know that there are some amongst you who care for this community and are keeping it going even if its behind the scenes and without any gratitude. This is how these forums always worked.

This is not a goodbye of any sort, but I figured some people might expect me to come back at any time now - this is me letting those who care know that I am not yet ready to do that. I have also stopped putting cases together to prove the manipulation, because I feel very dispirited to keep trying to do that.

In the end, I dont believe it would stop the manipulation and intriques anyway.

  25. Hi everyone!

Been a while since I've posted on forums. I've been very busy! Between work and usual free time stuff I've also started streaming a bit here and there and I've less and less time to post. Also been playing a lot of games lately!

I have a plan to play and stream TLD in near future if that sounds like something might interest ya!

But right now, I'm preparing an event for friends and fellow people of the internet to have fun on the popular game Among Us. Specifically, we will be playing the modded version of the game called Town of Us! If you know among us and wanna join us, shoot me a private message! Don't even worry if you don't have the game - as long as you have a steam account, I've got you covered! You will need a microphone though, and a discord.

If meeting new people online, playing deception based games and having fun interests you, we will be playing on Saturday at 12:00 Chicago time.
