- What also floats in water?
- Bread
- Apples
- Very small rocks
- Cider
- Cherries
- Gravy
- Mud
- Churches
- Lead(c) Monty Python
So if rocks, churches and lead can float in water i see no reason why a prybar can't.

When possible, I even have a fire outside and use the magnifying lens to start that fire and then use the torch to start my better fire inside.
Better stay outside while cooking. Any fire used outside of building is still twice as fuel efficient as fire inside the building.

Bears and Moose ignore campfires now as they have been previously.
Can confirm. Yesterday I was harvesting a wolf carcass near a fire and cooking meet. There came a bear and tore me to teeny-weeny pieces completely ignoring that big nice warm fire i was sitting next to.

Weak ice in general. Along the coast, ok, that must be salt-water, although even oceans freeze up obviously when cold enough. But in FM? That's freshwater and would freeze several metres thick in these conditions (if it's somehow connected to the ocean I'd like to see how/where).
Because that's how it works in real life too.
QuoteThe creek he knew was frozen clear to the bottom—no creek could contain water in that arctic winter—but he knew also that there were springs that bubbled out from the hillsides and ran along under the snow and on top the ice of the creek. He knew that the coldest snaps never froze these springs, and he knew likewise their danger. They were traps. They hid pools of water under the snow that might be three inches deep, or three feet. Sometimes a skin of ice half an inch thick covered them, and in turn was covered by the snow. Sometimes there were alternate layers of water and ice-skin, so that when one broke through he kept on breaking through for a while, sometimes wetting himself to the waist.

Building a snow shelter (no cloth needed indeed). No fire, no bearskin coat, up to -30 oC at night. Russian language.

«— Скажите государю, что у англичан ружья кирпичом не чистят: пусть чтобы и у нас не чистили, а то, храни Бог войны, они стрелять не годятся»
Каждый раз при чистке ружья у меня сердце кровью обливается от звуков.
