Has the update been released for Linux yet? I have been checking again and again for the last few hours, but I still don't have the update.

I have a similar problem. The text you're talking about shows up for me, but some other text is missing. I have reported the bug at https://hinterlandgames.atlassian.net/browse/TLDP-2879. I am reluctant to try the suggestion that Marqs posted. My steam installation is very sensitive for some reason, and any modification to its environment requires me to reinstall steam via "steam -textclient".
