  1. @Raphael van Lierop Thanks for this, I think a lot of people needed to hear it. The explanation of the entire patching system on different platforms is also quite enlightening, seems like both appear to have their own quirks. As others have stated, I would also be willing to be more involved in the actual testing process. As of right now, I feel like a lot of critical issues with the game are getting lost when they are reported in your bug reporting tool. It's like searching for a needle in a haystack. As a software developer I understand how easy it is for bugs to slip through and how difficult it is to keep the overview. I have both the Steam and PS4 (EU) version of the game and would be willing to test and report in a more direct way. Good luck!

  3. I'm quite certain the urn is not accessible before the quest starts. When playing, I visited the farm before the quest and specifically tried the urn because it seemed to stand out, but I wasn't able to interact with it. By the way, +1 for NPCs living their own life in the sandbox. I'd love to get invested in an NPC that would, for example, come back after a hunt each day. Then, one day that just stops, and when you go to investigate, you find a wolf munching on his body..

    I have no issue with this change, but I wouldn't mind an occasional hint telling the player to check his journal, at least in the beginning.
  6. I've got to admit, I was pleasantly surprised by story mode (and I was really hyped). Intro The part from the plane crash until being able to climb was a good introduction to the survival system for beginners, and a fresh-up for veterans. I personally thought it might have lasted a bit too long, but then again, I already knew the mechanics beforehand. I personally would've liked a bit more info about the new tea-making-mechanic and the fire-duration, but I've seen lots of people saying the same thing. If you don't intend on showing this text outside of the journal, you can show an occasional hint telling the player to check his journal (at least in the beginning). Also, after each day, the transition to going to sleep was a bit too sudden and felt a bit jarring, I would've liked an option to just sleep whenever I wanted. Bridge I liked how when getting to the bridge, the path became less linear, you could take multiple routes and the environment felt more open. Great transition to the open world. My encounter with the bridge wolf was not really pleasant. I needed multiple attempts to get rid of him, everytime I left the car he immediately did a 180 and walked back in my direction, he ignored decoys and torches (both holding and tossing). One time the game even 'froze' after he attacked (I've already reported it). Soon after the bridge the survival instinct kicked in again, it had to. It was getting dark and I needed a place to sleep, so I slept in a car. Church I loved the interior of the church, it all felt incredibly fresh and vibrant. I quite liked the bump in lighting as well, it just looked right. I slept for 10 hours and in the morning the wolf in front of the church was still munching on the dead deer, that just doesn't seem right. Had the same problem with the other stalking wolf as I had with the bridge wolf and didn't want to use up any flares. Still managed to get past him though. Wolf behavior seems to be off. Milton Finally arrived in the town, loved the interior of the bank, the bank notes were a nice addition as well. Went into the house to encounter my first NPC, I liked the cutscene but suddenly there were no voices anymore. That was quite immersion breaking for me, at first I even thought my game fucked up. Slept in a nearby house and that's where I ended my playing session. Overall, liking story mode. It's given me a purpose but hasn't messd up the survival gameplay. It has left me eager to play more. Well done Hinterland. EDIT: I almost forgot about the great atmospheric soundtrack, really fitting!

  8. I like that they opted for the dark color scheme, similar to http://thelongdark.com. What I don't like is that this new styling broke some parts of the forum (i.e. black text on black background). So I added my own styling with Stylebot. There are of course other ways to insert custom css into webpages. Disclaimer: I haven't properly checked if the code doesn't break other parts of the forum, nor did I cross-browser test.   9. So, to get things clear. You aren't trying to make the pre-ordering offer available for Europeans? Or are you guys still trying? I've bought the game on PC quite a while ago but was thinking of getting it on PS4 as well. That was when I thought the offer applied to EU..
  10. @Support Yesterday, I played the test branch, and it appears that my problem might be gone. I need to do some extensive testing, but at first 'glance' the audio didn't seem to be dropping out.

  12. I have. Normally I connect it to my TV with HDMI. But often I just play it through the laptop speakers or headphones. Thanks for the suggestion though.
  13. Thanks for answering. Sadly, everything I tried yesterday didn't work. I checked all sound settings, updated drivers, reverted drivers, lowered visual settings. Nothing seemed to work. Do you have any more ideas I could try? Thanks.

  15. I still have this issue to this day. Could it be a driver issue maybe? EDIT: It only drops out when a certain sound or voice message starts to play. So while I'm going through a drawer and I find something. Just before the character says "This might come in handy", the sound cuts. After that cut, the voice message just plays like it should. It doesn't just happen with voice messages though, also when a wolf or bear growls. That means I lose my advantage of hearing him when he's coming for me. Also, lithiumplain's solution didn't work for me, I don't have that option.
