Thanks, yeah tbh I've only got like 10%of the bar left to fill to hit lvl 5. So will probably just continue repairing when clothing gets to 80%.

So I'm curious if anyone knows if the Sewing primer book can be read when I am at lvl 4 mending. Currently trying to get all skills to level 5. Mending is the last one to go(it's taking forever) The reason I'm asking is I know that the rifle skill book can't be read after level 3 iirc. So wondering if that applies to other skill books aswell?

I may be wrong but I think the duration bonus is dependant on the players position not just the fire position. I can get it to work the opposite way, For example, the little walled area just to the right of the door(if standing inside looking out) is a great sheltered place for an outdoor fire, where if standing next to it you will get the bonus duration , but if I go into the hut to sleep or craft for a few hours I do not get the bonus.

So I'm out of blackrock now, ended up heading over to PV to search for some batteries and, score 😃 found one at the farmstead. so looks like they do spawn but are a bit rarer, still a bit strange that there was not a single one In the entire Blackrock map though 🤔 hmm

I've just taken my long term custom interloper with guns survivor over to the Blackrock Prison, brought along some tools and my rifle for repair, was hoping to do some ammo crafting. However I have searched almost every car/truck on the map and not a single battery. The reason I think it may be the custom setting is , I fired up a throwaway stalker game specifically to see if there would be enough batteries on the map, therefore no need to look for /bring some along. Just curious if any one else, has had similar issues. Also I'm roughly 530 days in ,been holed up in TWM+AC for the past 150 or so days ,so can't remember if there are batteries on other maps .

I just recently hit 500 days on a loper with guns save, so decided to go for a 500 hour/20 day fishing marathon out on crystal lake, took down the condition of roughly 4x imp hatchets and 1or 2 hacksaw repairs to collect all the wood.😄 Next challenge is to grab my imp knives and hatchets and fight through the timberwolves in blackrock for repairs😟 If all goes well my survivor will be able to live almost indefinitely at the Mountaineers retirement palace.

You used to be able to still walk and look around while lighting the lantern. But this created a situation where , you could find your way around in the dark by letting the lantern ignition spark but not fully light, whereby you could use the flash to navigate caves etc without using any fuel. I remember seeing a few You Tubers doing it years ago. Then when the change was implemented I assumed it was to counteract this exploit. Not going to lie I think I did use this once to get through a cave with 0.02 L of lamp oil. Lol But yeah it is cheaty and I don't mind the change.

So I have taken my faithful cartographer( pilgrim mapping run) into Blackrock to explore. The game saved fine when I entered the substation, however once /when I try to enter Blackrock prison or save the game anywhere else on the map I get a Failed to save game please check sufficient storage , notice. So I quit to the main menu check my save and it seems OK load it up and I'm where tried to save. Then when I close/shutdown the game/console. I am reverted back to my save in the substation. Or back even further to where I slept in the transition zone(I forget the name) Just wondering if anyone else is having the same issue. I have been having issues with Internet past couple of days. So it could be that I've been tethered to my phone data causing issues.

I may be misremembering but I'm pretty sure if you click repair on an item (ie knife sharpening/rifle cleaning) The pop up window that tells you how long it will take and calories used etc . I'm sure it also tells you your sharpening skill/rifle cleaning skill level etc.

Yeah if you look at the repair screen I'm pretty sure it tells you you skill level

So I was all geared up ready to trek back to CH /ML for my tools, decided to head down to the PV farmhouse via plane crash, Burned ridge cave(iirc). Just as I was heading down the hill from BR cave I had a light bulb moment where I just thought hmm should I check skeeter ridge while I am here (usually don't due to sneaky corner wolves) Then I remembered wait a min, there has always been a set of simple tools just lying in the snow next to burned cabin on lower dificulties, might aswell give it a shot. The gamble paid off, there they were just lying in the snow, Noice just saved me a trip now I can get bk to building stockpiles at Mountaineers hut. Spot on. Thank god I remembered myself, otherwise I would have been annoyed with myself if I had travelled all that way and then seen your suggestion.

Hey folks so I'm wondering if anyone knows where a set of tools could spawn in or near TWM? I am playing a custom interloper with guns so I would imagine I am subject to interloper loot /loot tables. I have just travelled from CH bringing everything I may need for a long stay. Arrowheads fishing hooks 3x improvised hatchets and knives. Hacksaw. Etc Everything but tools to repair the hacksaw🙄. Also I still have a few cargo containers to loot, I've already got the summit loot,(started in Ash Canyon,then summitted then went to Spence's to forge) but being back here at 110 days ish. I'm wondering if everything will be ruined? Not really expecting to find much , hence why I came prepared. Just curious if anyone else has experience with leaving the cargo containers until this far in?

Can't remember exactly what happened on first run but I do remember that my first spawn was near the dead fall area in ML. One silly thing I did do when I was a new player was , when trying to figure out how the snares worked I was putting rosehip and reishi mushrooms on the ground around them as a kind of bait. Then I realised you just need to wait 24hrs

Yeah that's a point never really crossed my mind. Now that I think of it maybe there is a bit of terrain that the deer was grazing, up behind the fallen tree in the pic. Might have fell down and died from its injuries. However that still leaves the question of what has half eaten the carcass?

As the title says I would Love to see the wall mounted lamps from ep 4 make there way into survival mode. Could be filled with fish/lamp oil . Would be great for long term games. Balance wise not sure how long they should burn etc will leave that up to the devs. Just think it would be awesome to spruce up our favourite bases. Also make them feel more homely

Thank you for taking the time to post these. I've recently upgraded to an Xbox series x and while I'm loving how well games run and how fast they load, one downside is I can't read any of the loading hints. 🙃

From my personal experience there are no guaranteed matches in ML, there will be a firestriker and a magnifying lense. However if you are lucky you will find matches as a random container spawn.

Could be a cool addition, also if they ever add it ,would also give us another use for the bear/boar spear. Although I think both fights should have a high chance of injury.

Yeah like the noise of limbs or branches falling in the high winds. Sounds more like a bear tearing through the brush to charge you. Even though I know its limbs and sticks falling I always look around in a panic just to be sure.

Thanks for the replies. Just wanted to know if anyone else had same issue. I reckon its my controller I'm starting to get the same on other games also. Kinda annoyed as its an elite mk2 controller ,only had it under a year and have never dropped it. Im beginning to think the so called sturdier elite controllers are just a scam
