  1. I also miss the brand. I'm sure there's a reason for removing it. I just wonder what it was...
  2. But for those few moments you were floating on cloud 9? Was your survivor lighter than air? Or perhaps have a sinking feeling? Was there some bad granola in the plane that resulted in a bad trip? I'll stop now.

  6. Welcome to the forums @cemal and @danille I'm glad this old post still attracts new views
  7. I really like the idea of a compass as an aurora predictor. That would certainly add something to deciding whether you should risk being out late.
  8. Welcome to the forums @GamerPS and @Jacksy
  9. Welcome to the forums @Bano And you're right, near indefinite survival is certainly possible. @Drifter Man had a post on a 1000 day run that ended due to the time involved and a game update that deleted the save. I think he got over 800 days in the end though and that was confined to mostly one map (with the occasional looting expedition). For the original post see "1000 Days in the Dam" below
  10. Welcome to the forums @Jdavis30 And like @Hotzn and @Ohbalmentioned the biggest problem with the Long Dark isn't survival length, it's what to do while surviving. Once you get established there is little to do beyond exploring and keeping your water/food/firewood stocked up.
  11. Welcome to the forums @Doc Feral And self imolation is a pain! I've almost done that to myself more than once (at the cost of my boots on one occasion too!)

  13. Welcome to the forums @zaz999 If you're looking for the "melt snow" option it is only available when interacting with a lit fire. Furthermore, there needs to be enough time left on your fire to melt the snow. For instance, you won't be able to melt 3 L in 20 min.
