  1. Also, I highly recommend Buster Keaton's last movie, which centers around a RR speeder trip across Canada! Sam
  2. Raphael, have you considered using the railroad for travel in a future story episode? The canfor crummy's and the hyrail pickups are already in game, but there's also much smaller "speeders" that would be a fun and useful way to travel around on the RR. I work for a railroad in Washington State and we had one we used for a while, a Fairmont S2 with a 1 cylinder 2 stroke engine that dates back to the 1930's. They're cantankerous, smokey, and yet completely endearing. Old timers call them "put-put" cars, and that's exactly what they sound like. I've attached a couple of photos of the car we used to run, and a video of it. Sam IMG_1415.MOV
  3. Some time ago, there was mention made of crafting for safehouse customization, and it was hinted that items (like the toy tractor) *might* become collectable, is that still in the works or....? Sam
  4. Question, could episodes One and Two possibly be re-released before episode Three? By a week or two? Because, as much as I'd really like to play them over before No 3, I suspect the overwhelming desire to know what happens in No. 3 will mean I'll go straight to it. You know what they say, "I can resist everything except temptation" Sam
  5. You can cook the meat on the rock next to the campfire, no pot needed. Sam
  6. I have an M24/47 aswell, that is a NICE rifle! I agree on the ammo though, it's $$$ and hard to find. The best place is online, Privi Partisan makes 8mm Mauser and it can be had for $15 a box. Sam
  7. "Gonna lay my purse aside, lay my purse aside, cause my money's no good on the other side gonna lay my purse aside" -snippet of the song Warren Hellmans Banjo This poor person didn't get the memo Sam
  8. Permadeath is one of the things that makes this game so good, it is as unforgiving as the wilderness it portrays. Definitely need to keep it. Sam
  9. He just doesn't see too well, and he's squinting to make sure he doesn't step on you. Sam
  10. @MarrowStone Mathis is the con, Methuselah is the old man in front of the dam Sam
  11. @TROY Agreed, this whole thing is a lot simpler than people are making it out to be. I like your theory about Astrid knowing Will was trapped below, but got caught by the cons. I'm puzzled by the forest talkers too, there's no real reason for them to be active in mystery lake anymore. Unless there is/was illegal logging going on deeper into Great Bear, they're done. The Dam's been closed for decades and the rail line doesn't look like it's seen any activity since the quakes. Another thing, we have no way of knowing for sure Mathis is referring to Astrid (there's also the mysterious laptop girl we've seen in previous spoilers), or that he's telling the truth at all. Sam
  12. I suspect wintemute is a code for a cypher, otherwise, why wouldn't jeremiah radio his buddy himself? I also suspect jeremiah has a tragic backstory, hence why he lives in the woods, alone. Most of the people I've known that claim they don't like people have been very personable in the past, but something happened that shut them down. Maybe Jeremiah came to Great Bear to work on the Dam, and maybe he had a family. Something happened, maybe a railway accident, maybe a flood related to the dam or a mine, a landslide, or something during the Quakes? Maybe his home was invaded by looters during the Crash and they killed his family? Either way, he lost his family, and he has withdrawn from society. He picked up on the wedding ring awful quick, most guys don't notice details like that so quickly. He clearly likes Will and wants him to succeed, why else would he give him his knife? That's a very nice knife, and in a situation like this, you don't just give something like that up. Sam
  13. The amount of talent in the TLD community is staggering, some good stuff here! It's hard to pick a favorite, but I think the one with the wolf in front of the camp office is my favorite Sam
  14. I could go on all day, but this should give you an idea! Sam
  15. I suspect she may not make it to day 12 if she leaves that lantern on top the stove there! Sam
  16. This first shot is from deer clearing, I walked out, he ran in, bang! Breakfast delivered! Sam
  17. I really need to get a better computer... The game looks incredible on the higher settings! Sam
  18. My feelings exactly! The idea came to me because I was thinking of things that remind me of TLD, and there's one hanging on behind me. The heavens opened up, a light shone down AND... Not really, I just sat here and thought "Why didn't I think of this sooner?? It's been staring at me the whole time!" (insert DUR BEAR smiley here, it isn't in the menu anymore...) Sam
  19. I like the almanac, it works very well in the Whiteout challenge. I think the barometer would still have a place though, especially if storms became more serious. Right now it's not too difficult to hunker down and ride it out, unless your caught outside away from any shelter. Sam
  20. I dunno if anyone has brought this up before, but this idea just hit me a minute ago. A barometer would be VERY handy, I'm not sure how much advanced warning a barometer would give, but a few hours notice of a storm is far better than none at all. I know Raphael has talked about making blizzards longer and more of a threat, it would be neat to see how this could affect the game. For example, "storms coming, I need to cut firewood NOW!" Sam
  21. Crawled up to a bear and shot him point blank, hit him, but he was still plenty strong enough to finish me! Sam
