  1. We working on a hotfix with Microsoft right now. Thanks for your understanding.
  2. And are you in-game on the Xbox version? Can you confirm this? Thanks!
  3. A feature film is in-development, yes. Producer Jeremy Bolt is attached to the project now. The ELEGY short film was a taste of what's possible with this material.
  4. Hey @Karl Grylls, check out this story for more information: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/resident-evil-producer-developing-long-dark-film-1025426
  5. Sierra - check out that Hollywood Reporter story we linked right below the video. Should answer some questions for you!
  6. Thanks for all your interest in the trailer, everyone. We're almost there!
  7. To clarify for now - differing opinions on Cabin Fever is not a new topic. Everyone on the team involved with making design decisions is aware of the variety of opinions on Cabin Fever. We simply don't have an update to share on any changes to the mechanic that may or may not happen. When and if that changes, I'll be more than happy to share that information. And yes, at least for right now, we're hard at work on Wintermute, as you all know. Thanks for your understanding.
  8. Matt Jordan's piece? Yes, he really captured the location well, along with the loping stride of the wolf.
  9. The community is quite talented! It's wild to to back through all the great work that's been submitted and shared with us over the years.
  10. At the Edge of the Forest - Lost Souls and Lonely Places In part two of our look back at fan art in The Long Dark community, we’re stepping away from wildlife encounters and scouting for visions of lonely hilltops, forests and cabins. Isolation has been a recurring theme for many fan artists inspired by The Long Dark, and we’re proud to share some of our favorites with you once again. And be sure to check out part one of our retrospective series as well, which you can find here. 11. Are you not seeing the right controller prompts to let you switch tools when fighting off a wolf? Can you post a screenshot of what you do see, if possible?
  12. At the Edge of the Forest - Wild Encounters in The Long Dark Deep into Cormac McCarthy’s post-apocalyptic novel, The Road, the father speaks to his son about a distant place, some two hundred miles away “as the crow flies.” But in their shattered world, there are no crows, and haven’t been for a long while. “Just in books,” the son says to his father, from whom the boy gets a solemn confirmation: “Yes. Just in books.” Pictures, thoughts, and fragments, all in conversation with each other, inspire a shared experience of fictional worlds like The Road or The Long Dark. To see the many pieces of fan art, music, and storytelling that have emerged from The Long Dark’s community over the last three years speaks to this phenomenon. It’s precisely this conversation that makes community creations so compelling. They can act as a bridge to other points of view—other worlds where crows fly and bears threaten us on the edge of places we think we know, but whose stories we haven’t encountered yet. As we all look to our August launch, please enjoy this collection of fan art, created and submitted by The Long Dark’s community. And we’ll be sharing additional collections over the next three weeks - keep an eye out for them! “Hunting,” by Steam user cousin “Let me in,” by tumblr user Mr. Vmyatina “Scamper,” by Steam user Riverside|hck| "Old friends," by Hinterland Forums member @kopfstoff "Day 30," by Steam user cmdragonfire "Campfire with the Old Bear," by Danielle Tyler Fan art by Matt Jordan "Rabbit Snare," from Steam user Sleeper Fan art by Heather Norcott Fan art by Kate Laudrum
  13. Thanks @Scyzara. I will certainly forward the poll results.
  14. Thanks, @cekivi. Beyond what I already shared above, we don't have any further thoughts to share on this topic right now. I am unlocking this thread, but please everyone keep your contributions friendly. Thank you!
  15. Yes, as we've pointed out once or twice in the past, even though this program doesn't strictly alter game files, it does undermine -- in a way -- one of the core elements of the game: Exploration. Of course many players are using community maps already, or making there own, but this integration pushes the concept a bit further. We'd like to think players want to leave room to be surprised!
  16. The BBQ of the future -- assuming you like a little motor oil with your venison.
  17. Hey @i8turky2, glad you are enjoying the casts so far. Our goal is to get 1-2 (hopefully 2!) our per month, as we can. As it's a new channel for us we haven't settled into a strict schedule yet. We're actually going to be recording ep. 2 very soon, so if you'd like to get a question in for consideration, feel free to email to us at info@hinterland games.com so we can take a look. (I see the question about AI above, but wanted to let you know about our plans in any case). Cheers!
  18. We'll put out a call for questions a day or two before the next recording. We'd like to include some kind of Q&A segment in each episode going forward. The various discussions around The Thing are always of interest to us. In this case, it was a favorite movie of both of ours, so we went with it. A survival tale to be sure as well! Thanks for listening everyone.
  19. Thanks for all your feedback everyone. We've been going over it all and it's been really helpful. Stay tuned!
  20. Thanks for your feedback everyone, all good thoughts. We have some different ideas for the structure of the show and content, but it all depends on how much interest there is in the podcast itself. If you feel like you'd want to see more podcasts, it be a big help to us to share it around and let others know about it. Hinterland's community tends to be spread over various places online, not just here in our official forums. Any help is much appreciated!
  21. Thanks Timber Wolf -- we're testing the waters, so to speak, so your feedback helps.
  22. Hello everyone, We've put together a quick Pilot episode for a new Hinterland podcast we're calling Signal Hill Radio. You can check it out here, where we give you a few different ways to tune in: http://hinterlandgames.com/signal-hill-radio-a-hinterland-games-podcast-episode-0/ If you like it, we'll make more! Thanks, Patrick
  23. It's true the unpredictability (and chaos?) of weather in The Long Dark is part of the core survival experience. How would you feel about something more unreliable than a barometer -- an almanac like in the Whiteout Challenge?
