  1. Hello Raph. Will the EU PS4 release - due tomorrow - have the patch 4 update? Ta.
  2. Thanks both. Does mapping record where specific items have been found? Can you manually enter information to the map yourself?
  3. If a dog companion were to be included then they themselves would need feeding and warmth etc. I suppose the dog food cans would be fit for purpose
  4. TLD allows me time to reflect. So many games are designed to push you forward so it's a nice change to have an experience where you(to a degree) can control what you do and where you go.
  5. As I'm not currently playing TLD(not until 8th August) how has the map feature worked out?
  6. So glad to be able to return to The Long Dark, now that it will be released on PS4. Got excited and decided to create a blog just for my thoughts and experiences(there will be gameplay videos after the 8th - when the EU PS4 version releases). Drop by Typha Tales - Anecdotes from the Quiet Apocalypse D.
  7. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stranger_Things_(TV_series) Those growing up in the '80s will love this show but this series isn't just about homage. Great casting of the children and the adult. Setting is totally believable - dare you not to fall in love with it after the first 10 mins!
  8. I can recommend this book for those looking for a survival story with a fair few twists (there's a lighthouse in the story too). It is also part one of The Southern Reach trilogy. My review of the book - Annihilation by Jeff Vandermeer - can be found here: http://hexdimension.com/2014/09/review-annihilation-jeff-vandermeer/ From the back cover - "Welcome to Area X. An Edenic wilderness, an environmental disaster zone, a mystery for thirty years. For thirty years, Area X, monitored by the secret agency known as the Southern Reach, has remained mysterious and remote behind its intangible border– an environmental disaster zone, though to all appearances an abundant wilderness. Eleven expeditions have been sent in to investigate; even for those that have made it out alive, there have been terrible consequences. ‘Annihilation’ is the story of the twelfth expedition and is told by its nameless biologist. Introverted but highly intelligent, the biologist brings her own secrets with her. She is accompanied by a psychologist, an anthropologist and a surveyor, their stated mission: to chart the land, take samples and expand the Southern Reach’s understanding of Area X. But they soon find out that they are being manipulated by forces both strange and all too familiar. An unmapped tunnel is not as it first appears. An inexplicable moaning calls in the distance at dusk. And while each member of the expedition has surrendered to the authority of the Southern Reach, the power of Area X is far more difficult to resist.

    Wild Life

I remember reading somewhere that the plan is to introduce Moose to the the wildlife of TLD. I do agree that it does need more wildlife to flesh out the sense of being in the wild. It would be a shame to have a survival game based in Canada not to show off some of the unique animals in the country.

    rifle loading

Hello Fadrius. Try clicking on rifle in menu and there should be the option to load the rounds from there - as long as you have the rounds in your backpack, that is.
  11. Outcast by Robert Kirkman - there are 3 volumes now and a TV show on FOX(which is very good also). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outcast_by_Kirkman_and_Azaceta
  12. Did anyone play Firewatch? The map in that game was ideal as you filled in details as you explored etc. That could be incorporated into the notes area of the journal and be specific to your game. That, though, could be plenty of work for the devs to get to work
  13. I agree it would need to serve a purpose and that's a possibility in story mode but then do we know if story mode will be as free-flowing as sandbox? If we are allowed full scope of the map in story mode then a small town may to large an idea?
  14. From what I've seen of the map there's certainly scope for a town but maybe this will be introduced within the story mode?
