  2. This is actually something we are currently monitoring. If anyone is experiencing sprains when they're at 100 condition, on a flat surface, and not encumbered, please report it. I've forwarded this thread to our tech support so it can be evaluated.
  3. No, we have not sampled sound clips from any other game. Everything you hear was developed by Dave Chan and Glenn Jamison specifically for this project.
  4. Anyone? Please, answer me. This was a fix for the player being able to reload and fire the rifle from "aim mode".

Apart from the notes you've made here, are there mechanics you're enjoying, or that you find work in a consistent and logical manner? I'm always curious to draw these comparisons from players that share this kind of feedback.

  8. In Pilgrim and Voyageur, you have a chance to spawn indoors.
  9. Our posters currently ship flat, and this certainly increases shipping costs a bit. We've been able to lower the cost of shipping recently, but are still working on ways to make shipping even more cost effective.
  10. Neat! Interesting gameplay mechanics...I find that games that take this route either work well or become frustrating fairly quickly. I'm curious to know what you think once you've had a chance to play a bit!
  11. Hello! Great to have you join us, and thanks for sharing a bit about your experience so far. You'll be happy to know that item placement (including hanging the rifle back in its rack) is already a feature. On XBox, simply drop the item from your inventory, tap left trigger while looking at the item, and then right trigger to place. It is worth mentioning that leaving an item "out" rather than storing it in a container will cause it to degrade a bit faster, but I find it's somewhat worth it if it helps your base feel a bit more like home.   12. From our official announcement: At launch, The Long Dark® will include both the first part of Season One of Story Mode, and the Sandbox Mode. The Story Mode content launching in the Spring will amount to 3-4 hours of gameplay, in addition to the freeform Sandbox mode which offers 100s of hours of open-world exploration-survival gameplay. The remainder of Season One will be released in additional 2-3 hour episodes over the course of 2016, until the Season One story arc is complete. I'm attaching a post from our Creative Director from a similar discussion in our Steam forums: This is actually something we've been discussing internally -- not just a harder mode, but "challenge modes" so people can set light objectives for themselves. The the new region provides a clear goal that we find quite satisfying! Additionally, we've mentioned that we're not opposed to modding at all, but that we're not considering opening the game to official mod support until after it is fully completed.

  17. Yes, save locations have changed. The location FINDarkside indicated should be correct.   18. It's definitely an efficient source of calories. It's also somewhat limited, and does take a bit of time to harvest. I can see why they're a bit of a player favourite, but I personally only use them for emergencies. They're non-renewable, but they're also highly visible in case you find yourself in a tight spot -- This is why I tend to leave them where they are until things get pretty serious. All that being said, it is intentional. We'll certainly keep evaluating feedback.

  20. Hey Leo, thanks for that great introduction. I am also a child of The Oregon Trail. We had computer lab once a week in my school, and we'd all rush to be the first to grab one of the few floppy disc copies of the game. The unfortunate few left out ended up with Wheel of Fortune.   21. Thank you for the kind words! We're always very happy to hear when The Long Dark has positively impacted someone's life. This is a very interesting project. I did a bit of python scripting in school, but nothing like this. While I'm here, I think I'm going to move your post to the Fan Art section.
