So sch
  6. allright, thank you elloco that´s all I wanted to know because I wouldn´t be appreciate if this run is getting lost... but maybe I will be still dead when the update is released at the end of march (killed by wolves, starved to dead,...) and i´ve to start again and again and.... Yes it´s really hard when you just started playing because in fact you don´t know the map and you have no idea where you are getting supplies, Food, etc. grettings to the netherlands ! cheers lukin
  7. Hello community, I recently bought the game and I´m on my 4th day (wow ) on my survival trip (in voyager-mode). It was hard to reach this 4th day (it took 6 tries to get there) because I´m not so familiar with the game-mechanics yet. All looks quite fine for now (no injuries, my shelter is Camp Office and now i want do go fishing against hunger,...) a small question please: will updates (the next update is announced for the end of march) kill the current savegame or will it not be affected on this? thank you cheers lukin
  8. ah, sure - flares are also a good idea ! But don´t get things covered by snow at some time when lying on the ground ?
  9. ah ok, thank you - I will try on the next encounter
  10. I think they´re for making tea or something like that - if you can use it as marks it would be also a helpful. But are they not too small when lying in the snow? Can you find them again? I´ve to try !
  11. ah okay nice tip - so you forage plenty of cedarwood to mark your way instead of making a fire with it. I will try thank you.
  12. Hi and welcome ! wow, you are suggesting that what I also thought when I was beginning to play this game a few days ago. As a new one who don´t know the map you´ll start in the middle of nowhere running around ´till you find a nice shelter for making your "homebase". Then you must leave it for searching further food and other supplies. So I also thought it would be very helpful just to put for example wood sticks into the snow for marking your way back to your shelter. I would also do this in reallife in such a situation (in which I hopefully don´t get into it ) nice Suggestion and would not
  13. roger that. but i´ve ever tried to avoid the wolves and kept a save distance. The times I died of wolve attacks I barely had no chance because I went upon a hill and it stand right beside down the hilltop on the other side - bad luck as in reallife I think Although I also don´t know how I can fight the wolve away when he jumped on your face trying to bite your head off. Hitting left and right mouse-button doesn´t impress him very much
  14. Hi pikkue, oh my dear - tried a new run on Voyager and the wolves are still as agressive as in Stalker-mode ! maybe as a rookie i should try the game in pilgrim mode first... But I can´t image how people survive the first days in Stalker without getting killed by wolves until you find some more flares or the rifle for defending yourself against the hostile wildlife... ARE THEY CHEATING?!?
  15. hi everybody, thanks for your answers! so, I´ve tried to start my first steps in Stalker-mode - my longest survival time was 2 days everything was under control (hunger, thirst, ...) before a wolve has killed me... Maybe it´s too early for me in Stalker, so I will try the Voyager-mode now. Hope the wildlife isn´t that agressive in there. cheers lukin
  16. Hi community, i´ve read about the 3 difficulty settings and would be curious of which one you prefer for your run(s)? Am I right, when I say that Pilgrim-mode is the most realistic one because of no wildlife attacks? I´ve read that wolves are very shy animals and avoid humans and if there´s is an encounter they would carefully sneak away and wouldn´t attack expect they are infected by rabies (so in Stalker-mode they all have rabies? ) As well humans are not a type of prey for them. So the Voyager and Stalker modes are therefore a bit unrealistic and makes only more challenge for the game? Or
  17. be with you - seems i´ve played too many games with an ending ok, from that point of view I totally agree with you - I have to see the sandbox mode as a journey with only one 'goal': to stay alive as long as I can but finally die alone in the cold wilderness. you´ve convinced me - maybe it´s like riding a motorcycle where the goal is to ride and not reaching any destination. let´s hope hope the story mode will be finished at any time - I can wait for this. Maybe sandbox modes are not my preference. So let´s close the discussion with the words from Orwell 1984: 'As soon as you find the right
  18. it´s ok - but why should the community would treat me bad only for writing a suggestion? there are so many ideas here - some creative one, some strange i think. maybe mine is such a strange i also think, that the developers cannot read everything here - it would drive them insane for sure. So many suggestions and wishes for the game...
  19. @ Orwell 1984: ok, in regarding this I would like to say that know the story of the geomagnetic storm, etc.. I was following the development of the game from the early stages BUT in sandbox mode there is no "story" at all - you don´t have other survivors or a certain paths to go. You´re just alone wandering in open world and try to survive. My intention for my suggestion for the goal in the survival mode was the the following: as I mentioned before I wanted to have the game from the first time I heard about it - a survival game without dumb zombies, awesome gameplay mechanics, georgeous graph
  20. ..sorry for insulting you. This was only a suggestion for the DEVELOPERS like many others here. Don´t matter
  21. Dear Hinterland-Team, first I would like to say that I really like your game idea: a survival game without zombies, in real environments, good crafting and realistic survival mechanics with outstanding graphics design and so on. I still haven´t bought your game because it is still being in early access with no story mode even the sandbox mode is fairly finished i think. I have read a lot of player reviews in which the biggest complaints are that the sandbox mode has no goal. This is what I also think: Why should I try to survive for as long as I can, if I know that I obviously die at the end e
  22. Hello, Some time ago I have asked the same question for the shipping and handling fees to Austria for the Director´s Cut Edition, but no one ever replied. Also the Humble store had no answer on that. Don´t know why. Regards Reini
  23. Dear Hinterland team ! I would like to pre-order the director´s cut version which includes the DVD of the game on release because I´m not a fan of downloading huge data. Please let me know how much the shipping and handling fees are: $29,99 + ? Thank you very much for your reply and I wish you the best in achieving all your goals ! Best regards Reinhard
  24. Dear Hinterland team ! I´m very curious about your game "The long dark" - the gameplay and art style looks interesting and wonderful. The "realistic" survival story with no monsters and Zombies (which seems to be the standard for this genre..), hit my attention. So I´m really elated and looking forward for the release in october this year ! I would like to pre-order the director´s cut version which includes the DVD of the game on release because I´m not a fan of downloading huge data. Please let me know how much the shipping and handling fees are: $29,99 + ? Will you also support the gam
