Flags

I would like to put flags on the ground as landmarks.

They are useful to explore forest areas etc. And they are easy to think of and craft, even for beginners.

Not only useful but also we can despair when flags get broken by sudden blizzard ;-)

Personally, I'm not in favour of flags per se because they can be blown away in a blizzard (except that impervious Canadian Flag at the Camp Office! ). This actually reminded me of an older thread that was asking for the same thing:

What I would like to see is the option to use the hatchet or hunting knife to blaze a trail through the bush or find flag tape that you can use to mark a trail. Both should be more durable than cloth and, more importantly, easier to see!

Maybe we could find a roll of surveyors tape to flag our trails.
