Wasteland Watcher
Please allow remapping "Brandish Torch" to a button of my choosing. There have been SO many times I've brandished torches while simply picking up sticks, opening a door, etc. It is by far the most frustrating thing in the world to, instead of picking up a stick, swinging your torch until it goes out! For the love of God, please allow us to remap to a different key than the "Interact" key. Please.
Hatchet
I always extinguish my torch when there's a wolf, damn the times the wolf did eventually attack me regardless of my wolf vest and lost freaking a whole lot of durability. I'm with you on this one, it's like 'left' and 'right' you may know the difference but some people always say left when they mean right and vice versa. That's on pc i recon? on Xbox it's right or left trigger to brandish/extinguish and i most alway use the wrong one, it's one of those things i'll never learn. KD7BCH
I've both brandished without intending to and extinguished without intending to. For me the ratio of number of times I've Brandished to Extinguished is like 6:1 but the impact of accidental extinguish is higher which makes doing either equally annoying. LucidFugue
I'd like to +1 this. I'd say make Brandish RMB, and "put away" the extinguish function. I'm pretty sure that extinguishes it already, and I'm unclear on the purpose of a dedicated extinguish key that keeps the torch equipped.
illanthropist
I agree, it would be nice if it was mapped to the same keybind/controller button as "weapon reload" given it's current limited function.

I use RMB to extinguish a torch and then press "put away" button to place it in my pack while making multiple torches -- I generally carry 5 torches all the time. After the torch is extinguished I believe the RMB throws it. my biggest gripe with controls is that the "interact" button and "brandish" button are the same -- poor control design in my opinion -- that stems from the amount of times I've brandished a torch while interacting with a door, drawer, stick, etc. It could be easily remedied by allowing us to be able to map "brandish" to a button of our choosing. I just use "put away" and it auto extinguishes.

If the torch is extingushed it'll put away when that button's pressed of course. I love that wolves are fascinated by torches enough for me to walk away when I drop one (and light a fresh one).
