Revolver

Hmmm...

Expand? How do you see it fitting in the game? Uses?

My point of view is the main use would be very close range personal protection from smaller game. You may even struggle to take down a wolf with a .38 to be honest and as for the bear ... it'll be like shooting Mungo! You'll just annoy him more.

Many people who spend a lot of time in the Outdoors in Alaska and Northern Canda often carry revolvers for self-defense from wolves and such. .38 Special would be perfectly adequate vs wolves, with proper shot placement, but bears would definitely warrant a larger caliber, like .44 ....... although, these aren't exactly Brown Bears, here. A Black bear could be taken out with a .357 Magnum with good placement, although a higher caliber wouldn't hurt.

I AGREE WITH THIS SUGGESTION, and have joined the community to voice this.

I think a .44/45 Single Action Revolver would lend nicely to the wilderness survival theme, and add a bit of a Western element. Though it is set in Canada and you cannot legally hunt or carry hand guns, this is an apocalyptic scenario and I think it would help to fight off wolves, and even hunt Deer or Bear. The 6 rounds limited capacity and slow reloading of the single action would add to the thrill of fighting to survive and not put the animals at a complete disadvantage. Aligning with this idea... a Double Barrel Shotgun would do the same.. and would be affective against Small - Medium sized Game.

Thanks guys, great game so far. Thoroughly enjoying it!

I like the idea of a variety of firearms as that would introduce the complexity of deciding what weapons to carry and the debate of what ammo to carry. Do you just go with the gun you have or do you waste weight carrying ammo for a gun you might find later? Shotguns would be great, but the ammo is heavy and cumbersome. Maybe you have your cool Dirty Harry .44 Magnum, but only have 5 rounds, but have plenty of a lower power round for your smaller gun. Do you still carry that .44 or do you leave it behind?
