Coccolo Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 Hello, here's a few ideas that came to mind while playing recently.1. Show ammo count also when pressing reload button and the rifle is already fully loaded.Right now the ammo count is shown in the top left only when equipping the rifle or when reloading after shooting: if my rifle was already fully loaded and I wanted to check how many ammos are left I would have to holster the rifle and equip it back.2. Ability to eat only a part of a food item. The way I'm playing now, I stay in starvation most of the day and I only eat before going to sleep in order to raise back my condition to 100%. Sometimes I go to sleep with my condition at almost 100%, so eating a whole Kg of meat when half of it would suffice for healing me back to 100% seems like a waste of meat. 3. Throw objects. We could scare off wolves by throwing wood at them.Or, if a wolf was coming our way but had not yet seen us, we could divert its attention by throwing something away from us.Actually the idea of throwing objects came to me for a super specific scenario: I had my base at Pleasant Valley Farmsted and I was on top of Signal Hill; I had found a lot of wood up there but I was already carrying a lot of weight and I did not want to haul the wood all the way back to the Farmsted, so I thought it would have been cool if I could throw the wood from the top of the hill to later retrieve it at the base of the hill, closer to my base . I do realize this would be too specific to be worth considering, still I think that throwing objects to scare animals or lure them away might be an interesting gameplay mechanic.4. Ability to move from front to back seat while staying inside a car.Right now we have to exit a front door and enter back through a back door. Now that I think of it, I would also like to be able to rotate 360°inside the car and see what's happening behind, especially if I'm hiding from a wolf.
piddy3825 Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 + 1 to keeping weapon icon up when equipped showing ammo count+ 1 to object throwing... I would settle for being able to throw a lit torch... nothing scares me more than having fire thrown at me. +1 to 360 view from vehicle. btw... sometimes I can reach the glovebox from the back seat?!? is that normal?
Coccolo Posted November 1, 2015 Author Posted November 1, 2015 + 1 to keeping weapon icon up when equipped showing ammo countActually I was suggesting of showing the ammo count also when pressing the reload button ('R' on PC), but only for a few seconds. I am against having it shown all the time because it would contribute to clutter the HUD, which is now preatty clean +1 to 360 view from vehicle. btw... sometimes I can reach the glovebox from the back seat?!? is that normal?Yes, I'm able to reach some items in the front from the back seat as well, but there is no way I can reach any item in the back from the front seat: for that I have to exit the car and enter it through a back door.
Muk_Pile Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 +1 to binding key to check ammo in rifle magazine+1 for throwing objects+1 for changing seats/position while inside vehicles+1 for being able to look behind you while sitting inside vehicles

I returned to one of four games that I currently have in progress. I end up selecting the stalker mode game where I am currently camping in the CH Quonset gas station. I look my character over, condition is good, clothing etc. I top off my calories and water, check my players condition and inventory real quick one more time and go outside. It is early in the morning. I look around, I don't see or hear anything so I start heading across the street towards the frozen dock and I think to myself that I better get ready for action, so I equip the rifle. There in the upper left hand portion of my screen is the ammo icon. I got 31 rounds showing and as I am walking the icon just stays on the screen and I am thinking to myself, "wow, they must have just fixed that with that last patch." Cool, I am thinking to myself, they must have taken Coccolo's suggestion seriously. So, as I am walking out to the fishing shack, my mind on this topic and not really on the screen in front of, all of a sudden I have two wolves menacing me from two sides and I see a third change his direction and start heading over towards me. I am thinking no problem, time to get some fresh pelts and meat. I crouch down to line up a better head shot on the first inbound wolf, the "ammo icon" still appearing in the upper left hand corner of my screen. CLICK! ...yeah, you guessed it. rifle was not loaded...
Coccolo Posted November 3, 2015 Author Posted November 3, 2015 Ouch! That must have hurt! That's why I obsessively check my rifle (hence my above suggestion)BTW: I just checked on the latest version (v.282) and I can confirm the rifle status will appear on the top left for 5 seconds when you equip the rifle, then it will fade away in 2 more seconds. So, it's not staying on forever.
FrozenLiquidity Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 IMHO these are all good ideas. Throwing would be a useful mechanic to toss food to distract a wolf, or in other scenarios. Checking the state of a weapon with R would be handy as well. Moving around inside and visibility around a vehicle are also important, especially when hiding from predators.
