exeexe Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 My suggestion is 2 part. Either A:Have the option to select "outdoor mode only" at gamestart for the hardcore gamers, and then they can craft items outdoor without a crafttable/Workbenchor B:make items craftable in all game modes without a crafttableThe items that should be craftable is shown here with a red underlinehttp://s15.postimg.org/akh666evf/craft.pngBut crafting them without a crafttable would make it much longer to craft them. Like maybe 2-4 hours.
exeexe Posted October 26, 2015 Author Posted October 26, 2015 You could also add crafting skills so what in the beginning might take 4 hours to craft will later only take 30 minutes to craft as you get better at crafting.
mjv96 Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 +1 +1 +1 +1 +1 +1 +1Anything that requires sewing should NOT require a crafting table. I've got plenty of friends out there that have made entire costumes with furs (both real and synthetic) and all they required was the mats, a place to plant their bums, and a tv to pass the time. I've even got a few friends that have made entire chainmail suits without a crafting table. Crafting tables shouldn't be a necessity but rather a nice gift to help speed up the time.
Muk_Pile Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 +1 for crafting items without crafting tableCrafting table should only be required for crafting certain items (e.g. fishing hook, survival bow, arrows, etc.), and should only be sought after and used to craft all the other items because of a production-related bonus (i.e. significantly reduces crafting time or materials required to make something). And do I really need a crafting table just to simply tie a piece of fishing line onto a fishing hook?? :?
Foxen Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 ...And do I really need a crafting table just to simply tie a piece of fishing line onto a fishing hook?? :?...or cured guts to a piece of wood...or splice a sapling...or...? I think we could ask that question about every second Item on the list...and someone would anser:NOPE! I wouldn't need it!
mjv96 Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 If anything, we need a curing rack to secure the furs to while they are drying. Perhaps the "crafting table" can be reimagined into something along those lines or at least help speed up crafting times.
woodydaocas Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 true that, just working with the metal should require a table, repairing an axe should require it, banging some stuff with something, but not making a fishing tackle and so on
