Hinterland, what are your plans regarding Stalker?

Hello Hinterland,

i love this game. Or to be more correct, i want to love it.

Im aware that even if you take player suggestions into account, and this is still early access, you have your own vision of this game.

So i frankly ask you what your plans are for the hardest difficulty in this game. Is the current overall difficulty of stalker to your satisfaction?

With the feedback of players in this forum in mind, do you plan to increase the difficulty, or maybe even allow it to be customised by the community?

Without going into the details why Stalker is too easy (see the threads in this forum, and all the great suggestions), i want to point out that i observed this game and his changes for over a year now, and my impression is that the difficulty didnt and wont change by much.

Im trying to give feedback to your game, but i dont want to waste my time aswell. I think playing this game for over a year now was totally worth its money. But also, atleast in my opinion and i think many in this forum agree, it has much more potential and long term playability, without changing the current gameplay radically.

To be honest, playing this game for over year was only possible because you would still expect and anticipate more or "the" content you like. In my case, im getting tired of waiting for a difficulty change, and i can only hope that your vision of the game will cover mine in the future.

I opened a similiar thread a few months ago, and basically the answer i got was that you will change difficulty at the end, when all content has been implemented. This of course makes sense, but it also makes alpha testing the game very tedious and repeating. Also not knowing how your vision of the game (and its difficulty) is, makes playtesting the game a potential risk of being disappointed.

My suggestion for a solution would be to implement basic customisation options for the sandbox. (A sandbox should be customisable anyway). You would make alot of people happy, and solve alot of problems regarding difficulty at once. Moreover your vision of the storymode wouldnt have to change at all.

+1 agreed stalker needs to be way harder, and easily doable with minor tweaks,like longer survival= less daylight hours and diff animal behaviour, needs to be harder hunting wolves etc, more like easy at start ie animals stay away including wolves for first few weeks or so, when they become more desperate and vicius as time goes on etc

And new craftable gear, stone tools,spears . You could even change the maps slightlyf or stalker with having to live off the land,and in caves etc. Just make all structures ruins. Let us craft tents and sleds etc ,things that alot of people have been asking for. But these extra things would be for stalker only. Giving easy and normal players not only a harder but different experience to work toward adding to repkayability.
