Pot Belly Stove warmth provided only while crouching

Location: downstairs Pot Belly Stove in Camp Office at Mystery Lake

While freezing, I made a fire in the downstairs Pot Belly Stove in the Camp Office. The fire was burning merrily but I was still freezing even after waiting for a short time. Experimentally, I crouched in front of the stove and sudden I was warming up. When I stood up again, I was freezing. I returned to crouching and I warmed up. Even if standing up increased my exposure to the cold, I still expected some warming benefit from standing next to the stove.

Ill try to reproduce this, but next time, open the HUD via Tab and then watch the Warmth Metre and see if it drops, even if its by the tiniest bit. If so, then its by design and you are slowly getting warm.

But ill try and see if I can do it. It could even be something to do with the Fire going out, when you exit the Cabin.

I'll pay attention for it. I think there was a bit of a gap between this issue and the exit-the-cabin-flameout issue, though they were both in the same playthrough.

My assessment was based on temperature readings, though. Standing, temperature was an aggregate 1degC. Crouching, temperature was an aggregate 17degC (IIRC).

Definitely sounds like something strange on here -- the temperature difference between standing and crouching you experienced is far too large.

I have tried a couple times and have not been able to replicate this.

I haven't managed to successfully replicate this with a wood burning stove before I stupidly killed myself by forgetting to take antibiotics before sleeping while food poisoned...

I'll try again on another playthrough with a pot belly stove, ideally the one in the Camp Office.

I haven't been able to replicate this either. I was in the Camp Office, bottom Floor and lit fire, and got off so warm. One way to try is when standing (and your freezing and full red bar) click stove and cook sort boil something. If you go back into the HUD and your Bar has dropped, you should fine.
