Boss Llama Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 I understand fully that windows of fully interior spaces can't be transparent, because it's a separate zone that loads and the outside isn't there to see. That's totally fine. Even with that the case, however, the weather outside and time of day are determined by the game, for purposes of sound and light levels. Light already shows up in the windows in a way that works well - is there any chance we could get the weather to do the same? When I'm hearing winds blowing, it could be a clear sunny day that happens to have wind, or it could be an absolutely blizzard complete with grey-green sky and 5 meter visibility. If it is possible to have snowfall/visibility conditions indicated in the windows as well, whether with shadowy movement or some other means of indicating the condition, I think that would be useful and realistic, without putting any strains on the current system of separate zones.Thoughts?
EricProvost Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 +1 The sounds of outside wind work pretty well, but it would be really, really nice to see how much precipitation we're getting too.
houservt Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Yeah; some of my favorite areas are the ones with windows; they did a fairly good job of this in Desolation Point. I like the glass enclosure at the top of the lighthouse and the wheelhouse of the Riken ship; and the church would have been my new favorite base if they'd have enclosed it with glass windows. Still, it'd be nice to see more, such as the ones used in cars, the farmstead porch, and fire lookout towers. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a greenhouse or abandoned airfield with a lookout tower. Those would easily become my favorite home bases.
alunasmoon Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 i think it would be cool if some houses had broken or open windows you could close to warm the place up it would also be a random risk factor in a storm
