When the paper tab for the thread is black or white. What's the diference?

Black means there are posts you haven't read yet in that topic. White means nothing new since you last checked it.

H = an especially popular thread - "Hot Topic" I believe it stands for. Haven't seen an H used like that in ages, but it was an old indicator, and it would appear to be back.
