#2753 - v.271 Random black screen bug

Ok, so here's what happens. I can start the game just fine, but once I've played for a while (some times a couple minutes, other times about half an hour) the screen will go black. The monitor does not go to sleep. I can still hear the game and interact with the UI. I never get any error messages. Some times the screen will come back for a few moments but always seems to go black again. My only way out is to reset the computer since trying to get back into windows doesn't result in a viewable screen. I've had this happen indoors and outdoors. This seems to have been introduced with one of the last two hot fixes since I played a number of hours when Desolation point was released without a problem. I've been in desolation point ever since it was released so I don't know if this bug effects other maps.

Here's my setup

Windows 7x64

GTX 760 in SLI

Core i7-4790K

Here's what I've done

I verified my files through steam

I tried forcing dx9

I updated my video drivers

I ran windows update

I changed the game video settings to low detail

I've attached my output log file.

Let me know if any further info is needed.

I looked for others who had the same problem before posting and came across the post about what to try before posting a bug. Just trying to do my part. Love the game even though I had to deal with a fatal bug. Keep up the good work! Can't wait to play the finished product!!! As a gamer in my mid 30's I find few games that capture my attention for more than 5 hours of play! I love that this piece of work does just that. My only wish is that there was a map that showed areas that had been explored with the ability to mark spots and add notes to them. I don't have a 3d display and find it's difficult to find my bearings without a map at times. I understand the reason for not having a map, but maybe having the map with it's current location accuracy effected by the prevailing weather would be a good compromise. Keep the updates coming. I mostly look forward to the updates. Oh, for the love of all sanctity, please show the current time when faced with the amount of time to sleep! Love you guys and all the work you put in!

I read the text about maps, but that would go in the wishlist or feedback section. Please note that there are already multiple discussion threads about maps, so it's usually best to add your responses there rather than starting another duplicate thread.
