v.270 game crash at abandoned mine #3 (ruined Hwy) interior

PRECISELY the same thing happened to me in the Coastal Highway entrance of the Abandoned Mine.

At the interior of the abandoned mine number 3 (the ruined highway entrance,) I entered, rested on the bedroll to save, and then proceeded deeper into the mine. The game crashed, sent me to windows, but stayed running, and I can hear game sounds correlating to keystrokes, but I am unable to see the screen anymore. It is minimized and in my toolbar but won't open again.

It happens every time, regardless of whether or not I have a torch, flare, or nothing equipped.

It does give me about 10 seconds before it crashes if I immediately look at the ground and slowly back out of the cave.

Love this game. Keep it up.

Just made it back to the mine entrance nearest the abandoned outpost in Coastal Highway. Same thing happened, exactly as before. I will report back when I make it across to the Ruined Highway entrance.

I followed the suggestion of Bill Tarling and forced my game to start in DirectX 9 instead of 11. It let me run right through the caves, with only minor graphical downside in the 'main' areas of the sandbox. Thanks!
