Personal opinion regarding in-game location text/names

1st of all I think that the text/name of the location that comes up on screen when you come upon a place looks really nice and the added 'snowy blowing it away' type effect when it disappears is also really cool.

Just something that I noticed -

It's the middle of the night, I can barely see, "Where Am I?" I say to myself.... all of a sudden

CAMP OFFICE comes up on screen.... oh, cool, I'm saved. Thank you, er, God?

Different situation -

Blizzard and fog is seriously seriously restricting my view, I can't see 2 feet in front of me, I am now dis-orientated and lost and in dire-straights..

PLEASANT VALLEY FARMSTEAD

Can you guys make it so that when our vision is impaired that these visual texts don't give our/the locations away (in other words so they don't come on screen). I was saved by one of these the other day. I was glad, but it felt really odd, slightly cheaty and just out of place.
