So I bought this game when it first came out. Enjoyed it a lot but did not commit to playing it a ton.

Started playing and have made it about 60 days and have cleared out all of Mystery Lake and most of Pleasant Valley.

Been trucking everything to the homestead to setup for the long run.

Really enjoy all the new features and UI.

Do have a couple questions:

1. I used to be able to build a fire on the ground...I have not been able to find this option is this still possible?

2. After death is there any way to get stats on how well you did? (such as wolves killed, days survived, travel distance, etc)

All in all this life has been thrilling I have twice dipped to 1% and managed to get to cover and save myself. This was early on while trying to craft gear and getting attacked by wolves. Once I obtained the crafted gear and got back in the swing of things it became pretty smooth sailing.

I found out the hard way that bears were added when I woke up to one mauling me after taking a 1 hour rest to save my game.....

Should still be able to place a fire on the ground, just not in certain areas (indoors, for example). The fire will show as red (unplaceable) if you try to place it too far from you. On the other hand, if you place it too close, you'll burn yourself. Make sure you also have the required items for firestarting (igniter, tender, fuel).

I don't think there's an ingame stats display, but you can access your log, which records significant events. You could use it to tally up wolf kills, though.

When you hit tab to show your survival stats like cold, hunger, etc., it´s down right as a big "make fire" button next to "place sleeping bag". you must be snowblind ;P
