I was using the gun fyi
brun Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 I've gotten mauled by wolves when being on porches as well. I figured it was because I was too close to the edge of the porch?...anyways, I'm sure this porch safe heaven isn't by design, but is some sort of compromise?
1MikeMoody2 Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Yea "Raven" same thing happened to me. I shot the bear from the front porch as I always do and he came up in the porch and mauled me. I died from the maul and had 67 days lost ..... That was right after the last update, so in my new game I went to the side porch with the screened in porch and did my kill. It worked real good, the bear came straight up to the door, one shot was all it took.

Thanks let's hope that the next update doesn't make it so bears can fit there fat buts through a open porch door p.s would be highly amusing to see a bear get wedged in the door frame
wolf359 Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 I thought it was part of a new update, when I was pulled over the rail by a wolf. I was shocked, as I always use the porches as a safe zone. Also thought maybe I was too close to the edge. Then the other day, a wolf came right on the patio, over the rail on jackrabbit island with the big deck. He came up a snow bank that covered the hand rail to the top. I used to like to taunt bears to pass some time, but I won't do that just in case.
quinch1199 Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Does this mean fishing huts are no longer safe either I wonder? As they have no door, I wonder if they're now classed as open areas like porches.
sierra 117 Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 Be careful using the porch with a closable door, as.the bear cant get in but if you stand too far forward. It will initiate the bear attack.
signal Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 I've gotten mauled in the farmhouse screened porch (the one with a door). If you stand too close to the door, the bear can drag you out just enough to get on top of you.
Raven 2010 Posted December 16, 2015 Author Posted December 16, 2015 just I just got teleported through the door porch with it closed well that's Alfa for ya
Muk_Pile Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Does this mean fishing huts are no longer safe either I wonder? As they have no door, I wonder if they're now classed as open areas like porches.Every time I've fled into a fishing hut to hide from a pursuing wolf, the wolf would either stand and doorway and snarl, or he would grumble his way around the hut until he lost interest and walked away. However, during a recent encounter at Crystal Lake on the Timberwolf Mountain map, when a wolf trudged around to the backside of the hut, he managed to magically teleport his head into the hut. Fortunately, I was close enough to for him to grab me and yank me back through the wall. I even had time to snap a funny picture of him (he looked like a stuffed trophy head hanging on the wall  )! Silly fluffy.
