Annoying equipped item screen movement

One of the things that I find annoying when the new Desolation Point update came out was the equipped item's movement around the screen when your character moves. See following images to see changed screen position of equipped item (flare):

Apologies for the dark images.

Not sure about why this change was made, so change seems more annoying that necessary.

Preferred it when the item stayed in the same screen position (pre DP update)
