I want snowshoes !

Come on now.... snow up to your wazoo and you cant bend a couple saplings, lace some leather and cured gut into functional snowshoes?

I understand there are coding priorities and getting a functional game up and smooth is priority. Eventually though a lot more basic items would be nice.

If I can perform gunsmithing in a blizzard I would imagine snowshoes would be effortless by comparison. Or how about a spear? With all the scrap metal and hunting knives littering the great white nort it would seem doable to get a pointy thing to poke stuff with.
