reficul999
The cars are there, I'd like at least a chance that I can start one. Also accelerant for fires are such a pivotal part of survival, why can't I syphon fuel?
jackattack
Might be frozen, might be adulterated with water. I once had an old Pontiac, I had to put fuel additives in every winter to keep water from collecting in the gas tank and lines.
elloco999
Well the cars don't work because of the geomagnetic event. And like jackattack said, the fuel might be frozen solid. Also there is plenty of accelerant available already, you can use kerosene as well. Personally, I hardly ever use accelerants. Only in an emergency situation when I need to have a fire right now do I use them.

The actual freezing temperature will depend on subtle properties of its constituents. Answers vary from -40 to -50 degrees C.
danicusrex
I blamed the unusable cars on the geomagnetic event.

Also accelerant for fires are such a pivotal part of survival, why can't I syphon fuel?no siphon gear/toolWith modern cars it is often rather difficult to siphon the gas because the pipe that leads to the gas tank usually has some bends in it and often also 1 or 2 one-way valves. But if I have a pot or some other container that I can use to catch the fuel and a sharp instrument I can use to punch a hole in the tank, I can certainly get the fuel without much trouble. Containers are plenty in TLD and so are sharp objects. But hey, since they did give the models the ability to open the fuel cap, the ability to siphon the fuel may well be added in the future. Just like removing or at least using the battery under the hood (ever noticed how that stands out).
