Howardhughes77
Hey, hinterland, i was wondering if you guys had any plans that you can talk about in regards for faraday cages. For anybody that doesnt know what a faraday cage is, it is for all intents and purposes a sealed enclosure that has an electrically conductive outer layer, what it does is it protects electrical devices or any other materials that could be harmed by EMP's or solar pulses (these can range from full sized buildings to small boxes the size of a milk carton). Items that could be put into such containers could be luxurious and useful but very rare items such as electrical hand cranks, rechargable batteries and battery chargers that could be used with other items found in faraday cages such as flashlights, tape players (or even just an mp3 with music on it) with different music tapes scattered across the different play areas, a phone or some kind of GPS with basic map information of the different areas. Some other end game items could be cordless hand saws that could help to harvest different metal or wood objects into scrap and firewood in a faster amount of time, possibly even space heaters, curcuits, parts and power tools to help enable electronics in smaller structures such as cabins and trailers to enable usage of ceiling lights and wall outlets.Anyway, this is just some stuff i would like to see for end game play, and was hoping i could get a reply from hinterland about this as i believe some if not all of these things could add further to long term gameplay, thanks. TarjaS
A bunker would be a logical place for something like this. I'm sure a paranoid enough survivalist could have built one with all the necessary protections, so you might find working electronics in there. Wouldn't it be fun to own the one and only operational communication device there is left? Sort of ironic, if you think of it.
EternityTide
Might not precisely line up with the ingame thought, but I found this an interesting read recently:http://physicsworld.com/cws/article/new ... ly-thought
