JunkyVirus Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Hi there, I was forwarded here by Bethany because I am having some issues with the game when running Dxtory at the same time.Taking it from the beginning I've been uploading videos of The Long Dark for a long time, I've taken a break from a few months because I've not had the time to play it, but I had no issues recording or playing the game with Dxtory in the past, but today when I started up the game I was first greeted by just a black screen, then after pressing a few buttons the main menu popped up and no issues there. Then when I entered the game I was met with black flickering whenever I moved the mouse but I searched a little and found a post on steam about entering "-popupwindow" in the properties and that worked for the flickering so I thought nice now the game is running fine, but then when I entered a building I was met by this:http://i.imgur.com/hsBccMl.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/POD4PgF.pngSomeone told me to try and mess around with the graphics settings and such and I found that low and medium made it almost go away except when I was facing the door and someone else just asked if I by any chance had Dxtory running and I did so I shut it down and that made the game look perfect and run perfect again. And this issues does not appear to happen outside from what I've seen, only in doors. So I thought well maybe that fixed it and started up Dxtory again but that just made the problem come back, I don't know what would cause this, if it's a dxtory update or the game.If there is anything else I need to post please tell me.
octavian Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Close the game, go to advanced settings in Dxtory, the tab with the microchip icon, and enable Delay Hook, leave it at 5, open the game. Does that fix it?

Does that fix it?No that did not work, also I wouldn't want to be forced to have an option on that will effect my other recording and that isn't part of my normal setup.
octavian Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Well, what I can tell you is that I had the same problem and I solved it either within Dxtory's options and/or by using a different version of Dxtory. 2.0.131 worked fine for me (with options enabled so I don't know what exactly solved it for me). Sadly I have stopped using it so I can't tell you what those options were. Sorry I can't help more.
Jeremy JPOW Powell Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 I'll poke around and see if there's anything on our end preventing this from working properly.Jeremy
