Coastal House in PV: Items on Ground Disappears

While exploring Pleasant Valley, I entered the Coastal House and dropped a lot of inventory to explore more. I entered through the other door and all of the dropped inventory disappeared! I was able to find my inventory by entering the same door I walked through originally. Seems like the house has a wormhole inside where you can enter a parallel universe .
