writeright1 Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 I've seen discussion on the boards in regard to companion pets like a dog or bird of prey, but what is more likely is that a person trapped in isolation for a long time would fixate on an object, like Portal's Companion Cube or Castaway's Wilson or even Stephano from PewDiePie's playing of the game Amnesia. In keeping with the game's resource management theme, maybe a stuffed animal like a bear, wolf or rabbit, that you can keep with you and it would have durability and over time you'd have to decide if you want to spare your dwindling supply of fabric and sewing supplies to keep your friend "alive".
jeremiah johnson Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 thats a cool idea!! Only i think they would have to integrate some sort of morale system into the game, unless you the player were to develop some sore of affinity for the object lol. Either way like it!! I also like the idea of having a real creature that you might ultimately have to end up killing for food but i also think having to care for another creature would make the game a bit... i dont know, i can't think of the word. I've played other games where you have to do things like that and they just become chores and take away from the game play. I guess ultimately they are one in the same if companionship is what they both deliver. Great idea!!
