Can't Use Lichen Dressing

I'm trying to get every achievement on every difficulty level, but I've run into a problem getting the Natural Healer achievement on Pilgrim (playing on a PC): I can't use the Old Man's Beard Lichen Wound Dressing.

Obviously no animals will attack me, so that's out. I stepped in a fire intentionally, but my only option to heal the burns was a regular bandage and some pain killers. I've also walked off ledges, thinking the bandage might be used to wrap a sprained wrist or ankle, but apparently not. I've heard of other people being able to use the dressing without being injured, but I can't; either in the first aid menu or the regular inventory. I was able to use both the mushroom and rose hip tea without being sick or hurt, so I'm not sure what's up with the dressing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

do you have the Old Mans Beard Dressing? Or just Old Mans beard Lichen?

You use the lichen and a bandage at the crafting table to make the Dressing.

I have the dressing and that's what I'm not able to use

Looks like what you are seeing is by design. The Old Man's Beard Dressing is meant for afflictions that requires both antiseptic and a bandage.

I see the problem with not being able to use the dressing with no afflictions but you can drink the teas. The teas are also food items which allows you to use them in your inventory, but because we made it so you can't use first aid stuff from the inventory anymore you can't use the dressing from pack, but need to use the First Aid menu.

- I have to be afflicted in some way that requires both a bandage and antiseptic in order to use the dressing. In that event, I should be able to apply it from the first aid menu

- Which means that anyone who was able to use the dressing without being afflicted (I've heard of at least a few) were the ones who were experiencing a bug, rather than me. I was just experiencing normal game play
