it would be interesting if bad things happened to you on a day, you would have nightmares about it. maybe wake up in the middle of the night! if good things, that are reassuring, happened(such as curing a disease at last minute) maybe you would have a deeper sleep that would give you better fatigue healing. thats not weird, right? I know many people post weird things that have nothing to do with the game, but i think this makes some sense. flashbacks toward the plane crash and looting your first corpse during dreams would be creepy, giving you goosebumps. tell meh what you think

I like it. There could be nightmares where you are surrounded by bears and wolves in the woods, and you wake up when you get attacked. Just make them super rare so you don't get bored of them whenever they occur.

This is neat. It could be more commonplace when you're out in the wilderness sleeping (caves, green outbuildings, etc) because your character would be more scared out there than in his nice warm bed. I also agree, quite rare.

that would be great!!! should we be able to control some dreams though? I'm not sure.

This might be of interest to some of you, a post I made six months ago:

These ideas, and those of this thread's OP are ideas I could get behind.

In your original thread someone mentioned a morale bar, rather than the current exhaustion bar. These, especially the peripheral hallucinations would tie in with a mental exhaustion bar, in my opinion. The more you've been outside and in danger, hyper-vigilant, come close to death, etc the more it would fill up and you'd have to hybernate a few days.

I like this idea. However I think that overtime the more seasoned your character becomes the less frequent the dreams should be, unless something out of the ordinary or extreme were to happen like maybe you survive a bear attack or a great fall. Although i suppose if you weren't mentally strong enough, after enough time one might go insane after experiencing such isolationism

This would add a brilliant layer to managing your sanity whenever that's implemented. it could also help with the story allowing a way to develop the character with something other than verbal exposition, perhaphs even allowing players to experience life before the disaster? And maybe cataloging the dreams in their journal. The only concern would be fleshing the dreams out enough so that its not an overly repetitious grating experience for sandbox regardless very creative idea
