a player walks into a house, with a pile of fresh powder on the balcony, a basin of water, and a toilet. he is thirsty. so he drinks the water that has feces in it instead of the basin water. but is perfectly fine. then he drinks the basin water and dies. WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.

it makes literally no sense!

EDIT: toilet water thing has been explained in the comments;)

You don't drink water with feces in it... You take the water from the toilet's tank, not the bowl...

Ahaha this makes sense, I didn't even think about it. Until now I was thinking that I was drinking water from the bowl

Nice work. This is how we help each other. :)

What about the toilet in CH garage?

No tank on that one.

So tell me again about water from the tank.

So just because that one has no tank in our opinion what the player character actually does is take water from the bowl even if the toilet has a tank, right?

Bear Grills would have been proud, though...

How many bears would Bear Grylls grill if Bear Grylls could grill bears?

I would bet the first bear Bear Grylls would encounter would end up grilling Bear Grylls...

It may not have a tank but it does have a water pipe leading to it, so we drain that. But if you want to drink from the bowl, I wont stop you.

Yeah the water tank part is pretty obvious if you think about it, but is it really safe?

I know that our toilet's tank is filled from the same pipes that our drinking water is coming from, but the inside of the tank has a nasty looking rust-red colored coating on the inside from years of use.

Shouldn't that water be at least purified before I try to pour a glass of it for myself? O_o

If the water is being gently removed cup-full by cup-full, it will minimize the amount of settled particulates in the water taken from the tank. It might not be the best water you've ever tasted, but it also probably won't hurt you (too much).

If the plumbing is fairly recent, the vast majority of the hardware is actually plastic, so rust isn't as big a factor as one might think. I can't actually remember the last time I saw a toilet cleaning product that boasted how effective it was at fighting rust stains...

The big concern would actually be DIS-use of the toilet. Without the water cycling on a regular basis, algae and other water-borne flora can take hold, including things that might cause intense discomfort at the very least.

However, this is one of those areas where I happily hand-wave reality in favor of game play.
