I want to share my current run. Maybe the devs can read out what needs to be changed

or tweaked.

------------------------------------

Day 55, Map: Mystery Lake, Stalker

Base firestarting Skill: 96

I have looted the mystery lake in the first 3 days. After that, i made my basecamp at

camp office and made my second lootrun for more hides, guts and saplings.

Till day 17, i had all materials for all clothes and bow (still not cured). I stayed a few

days at trapper's for the rabbit skins.

Every two days i make a wood-run. The first tour i walk the lake trail

to western access -> lake cabins and than back on the lake (about 50 Sticks).

After sleeping i make the second tour to deadfall - tunnel collapse and back (50 - 80 Sticks).

On the way, i try to gather the fathers (cabins and hut on the lake, max and tunnel on

the second run). I used alot of matches to get my firestarting skill up to 96 because

it is better to have a high one when you are outside and really need to make a fire :)

There are still 4 places in mystery lake where i can find matches. I didnt touch them so i can

take them later when i need to. The other ones would have decayed anyway, so i used

them.

Hunting: I basicly dont hunt. A wolf you can fight with the knive and there are always plenty of deer carcasses around. I only use the gun for fluffy or for emergencys. The Bow and arrows are limited. So why would i try to shoot an animal multible times and damage the arrows/bow? So i only use the bow

to one-shot a bear from close distance (you cant miss) and let it bleed out.

---------------------------------------

Trappers and Dam:

each about 10 liter water, 30 reclaimed wood, 30 Sticks and a few cedar

-1 Bedroll in the Dam

Camp office:

-80 liter water, 21Kg cooked bear, 4 Beef jerky, 2 Bars, 1 Peaches, 2 MRE, coffee, tea

-384 Sticks, 43 Reclaimed Wood, 24 Cedar, 4 Fir, bunch of tinder

-33 Guts, 2 Bearhide, 1 Wolfpelt, 3 Deerhide, 1 Rabbit skin, 37 Cloth

-2 Bows, 16 Arrows, 1 Rifle + 13 Bullets, 9 arrow shafts, 1 maple sapling

-5 Old Man's Wound Dressing, 4 Bandages, 3 Antiseptic, 22 Antibiotics, 26 Painkillers

-3 rose tea, 2 reshi tea

-4 Jerry Cans, 1 Prybar, 7 Simple tools, 1 Quality tool, 13 Scrap metal

-3 Flares, 4 Sewing Kids, 2 Fishing tackles, 1 Snare, 5 Htchets, 3 Knives

-1 Can opener, 1 Firestriker, 4 Accelerant, 21 Matches, 1 Bedroll

-2 Wool socks, Cotton underwear, Scarf, Toque, Thin wool sweater, Mittens

Premium Wintercoat, Jeans

-Crafted Pants, Coat, Mittens, Boots

The wood equals about 100 houres of fire, or 170 liter water.

The food is enough to survive for the next 50 days before it decays. After that,

i go and kill the bear at lone lake cabin with the bow. I can use one arrow for

3 bear kills, so 1 arrow means at least 100 days meat. Not to mention the deer carcasses

or just kill a wolf with a knife and i still have 13 rounds... actually food is no problem at all.

--------------------------------------

Now the boring hibernation would start. Yes, i could go to PV and CH but why?

I would only find more tools, materials and make a new camp. I mean, i can survive

in ML now easily 1k days without going to PV or CH.

The fun part are the first 20 days where wolves and the weather are a thread.

When you look at the list how much stuff i already have, i think its obvious that

i dont need more weapons or tools or a 6th hatchet for a very long time. So there is no need to go

to PV or CH. I will now wait for the upcoming update :)

How much of this is based on knowing where everything is? shelter locations, likely drops, etc.

The biggest turning point in the game is knowing the map. Before I knew the map, I was lucky to make it to day 3 or 4. Once I figured it was the same map every time, and got my bearings from landmarks and memory, now death is only due to overconfidence - taking too big a risk.

I still play voyager because I like better weather to go wandering around for fun for long periods.

I know this too well. I died several times just because I wanted to harvest the full wolf or deer I just killed and I end up being frozen and hunted by wolves !

It might reflect quite accuracy the mistake you do in a real surviving condition.

80 liters of water, I never went that far, but its a good idea to stockpile a lot of water
