Outboundproduct Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 1) Snow effect is great! Although, in real life things that are farther away are harder to see making navigation a little tricker. When I play I seem to have more trouble focusing on what's close then out in the distance, due to the snow. 2) Animal tracks would be a great addition to the game as well. Also game trails, not that the animals need to stay to a preset path. Just something that will give and indication of where to hunt and set traps. 3) Is there any other critters that could be added to the game to hunt or fear?4) Finding a compass would be nice for navigation in blizzards, a true test of people's memory for where there shelter is. Other then these few things I must say I love the game.
danicusrex Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 The "geomagnetic disturbance" that stranded you out in the woods would ruin the compass idea, but I really like the idea of game trails and additional animals. Different animals require different hunting techniques, so that would vary the game somewhat.
ThorsHand11 Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Game trails is a great idea! It would greatly change the way I set snares. As of now I just would out my door and place them like 30 feet from my house but if there were game trails where you were more likely to trap animals you would probably have to trek out a ways from your cozy shelter to have a better chance of getting food. or it could start to force up to rethink where the good places to camp are.
Malinski Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 I do like the idea of finding/having a compass that just sorta spins when you look at it. Later in the game after some event perhaps it would be useful, maybe point at an objective other than magnetic north. Perhaps just at a certain time of day.
Patrick Carlson Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 3) Is there any other critters that could be added to the game to hunt or fear?If you could add just one more animal, would it be a predator or simply prey? Or something else entirely?
danicusrex Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 If I could add just one? Mountain Lion. Wolves charge straight at you (though I'd like some pack tactics from them), bears come on like a freight train. A mountain lion? AMBUSH!

danicusrex Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 I agree but bears would be a fun addition!...have you not run into a bear yet? Count yourself lucky, they will RUIN YOUR DAY.

danicusrex Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Well then, welcome! I'm reasonably new too (only played for a couple of weeks so far) but this swiftly became my favorite game!
Outboundproduct Posted August 12, 2015 Author Posted August 12, 2015 Well then, welcome! I'm reasonably new too (only played for a couple of weeks so far) but this swiftly became my favorite game!Thank you and it's becoming mine as well! There's so much potential with this kind of program, referring to different locations, claimants and survival techniques.
