So far I love this game, it could have a wider variety of skills and resources and this is my 2 cents worth:

More types of arrows:

The ability to harvest arrow shafts from branches or reeds. They could damage more easily than the saplings.

The ability to harden arrow points using fire. They could cause less damage than metal arrow heads.

The ability for stone and antler/bone arrow heads.

The ability to craft arrow fletchings/vanes from more than just crow feathers or make it possible to trap birds for more feathers. See more further on.

Animal harvesting:

You could use the deer antlers as handles for the knife and axe instead of fir firewood. Antlers can also be used to mine/dig for stone/metal/seeds/roots.

More types of birds can be added. You could trap crows (for feathers) with baited snares. Success rate could be low because of other predators. Grouse could be added (for feathers and meat). You could trap them using a baited snare. Bait could be grass seeds dug up with antler horns. Success rate could be low because of rabbits.

Resource harvesting:

Mushrooms can be replaced with a tinder fungus. This fungus could be lighted using fire or matches and then used stored to start a fire (instead of matches/flint etc.) for a time period (preferably more than 2 days).

Trees could have sap that you can harvest using your knife to extend torch burning time or to create a glue (sap and charcoal from burned-out camp fire) to be used to attach arrow heads to shafts, for instance.

Grass areas could be harvested for seeds to trap birds or to eat or with roots to process, cook and eat.

Berries could be added. They could be a food/medicine source. Areas with berries could also attract bears.

Stone could be mined and processed to create axe heads, arrow and spear heads.

Fire:

Ability to add wood if fire is going to die out during cooking/boiling.

Combine cooking and boiling so that you can do both at the same time.

Ability to manipulate/create tools from mined metals.

Ability to cure items quicker. This could be skill based where you would ruin harvested items at a lower skill set.

Ability to manipulate cured hide into more durable leather.

Tools:

Spears for hunting could be added. Spear points can be hardened by fire, stone, metal or bone.

You should be able to use your hatchet/axe and knife as weapons/mining tools. Knifes cold be thrown at rabbits. Axes can be thrown at deer/wolves. These could be skills that can grow same as fire building. Of course, accuracy (head wound) would be needed as throwing an axe at a wolf and bear would/could really piss it off.

You should be able to craft axes and knives from a combination of stone, cured guts, leather strips, glue and antlers.

You should also be a able to create a flint using metal and stone found by streams.

Bunkers:

Spawn all the bunkers on the map but limit those with scavengable content. I find it disappointing to hunt for them if they are not there. I would feel better if I could find them but they are empty. Locations are posted on the internet in any case so it only becomes a hunt to find the one with content.

Co-op:

It would be fun to be able to invite friends. Not for PVP, but if 2 or more people hunt together, predators could be more afraid of them.

Durability of items:

I find that axes/knives, can openers and boots wear out a bit too quickly. Can openers could be more scarce but much more durable.
