chrisTHEfast Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Just on the topic of cool things you can do in the game. I agree that there should be an ability to fix a generator or a similar mechanic so you can use a radio to "beat the game" by getting rescued. Also I'd say that a cool thing that could be done would be adding a companion such as a dog or a carnivorous bird like a hawk or eagle and they bring back a scrap of something that gives you a hint as to what is in the direction they were sent. Also different weapons should be looked into. Maybe also the ability to use a gilly suit to get closer to animals or be better hidden from animals.
IcyWolf Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 I agree with the last point. No matter how careful I was, those animals seem to have a certain "aggro range". I can't remember how many "aw c'mon!" I have said when attempting to stalk animals in-game. Although at this point I can pretty much hunt anything in game with a bow at ease, I do think camouflage would be really cool.Currently the game only offers sandbox mode, and what do you do in sandbox? Explore and try new stuff! As far as I can recall, none of the sandbox games/mode I've played could to be "beaten". Plus, the game takes place after a geomagnetic disaster, which is mentioned at the beginning of the game, which means radio and anything that runs on electricity is totally useless now. Also, the nature of the disaster remains a mystery: how long does it last, how did it happen, all unknown.About companion, it has been suggested a lot, I mean, A LOT, but it doesn't fit the game's intention and direction. You can search 'companion' on this forum for more topics related to this.About weapon, personally I'd love to see more weapon types (a shotgun would be neat) and weapon varieties (different hunting rifles/bows etc.). The dev team might add a few more weapons in the future, but once again, weapon (or hunting as a whole) isn't the game's focus.
danicusrex Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 I don't need elaborate weapons, but I'd really like to be able to fashion a crude spear. Making a wolf/bear stay back even a few feet would be real nice. And if they start including pack tactics from the wolves (which i would really enjoy), a spear would make "where to fight" an important decision so you don't get encircled. Keeping two at bay while one other tries to get behind you would be a really tense situation.
