Wayl0210 Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 I know there used to be snow shelters that could be built in the earlier versions of the game. I understood that these shelters sort of allowed for a bubble of protection when adventuring. I was really surprised to see that there were no other forms of shelters that could be made or found though. While adventuring the Canadian wilderness of what I can assume is either Northern Ontario (I am an Ontariodite myself) or the Northern Prairies, I would only assume that in cottage and isolated locations that you'd find camping gear. While a basic tent may not protect you from the cold temperatures, it does offer some protection from the wind. Now obviously tents nowadays have thermal insulation and the works but I feel that the implementation of a tent/ti-pee that could either be crafted (With cedar wood, gut/line, and either deer or wolf leather) or found (basic nylon or cloth tent) would drastically assist with allowing players to keep a "nomadic" playstyle and keep players from developing the urge to "farm" areas such as the Camp Office or the Garage.I'd also suggest that tents take time to set up. The better the tent the longer the set up time (30mins to 1 hour maybe?). This would keep players from taking advantage of an "insta-shelter" while venturing the wilderness.
sir ice Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 it would be cool, but would make other things more boring. nothings cooler than using a bear hide sleeping bag to stay safe at night. even if the tent would't do much but protect you, it would bring the excitement of making the bear bedroll dim out... right? or is it only me?
Seancushing Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Hmm.. I think it would be nice, but under these parameters:It would allow you to set a bed roll within it, and reduce any wind direction affects, but not cold. In the highest difficulty, it would help slightly, only providing a one or two degree bonus to your sleeping.
