Differenciate fir and cedar wood

I tried for a way to do it but I can't seem to be able to reliably tell apart fir and cedar branches.

Could it be made so that even just by looking at them from 10-15 meters away we would be able to distinguish the two?

Is it purposefully made like this that we need to go near the branches and place the cursor on them to tell whether they're one type or the other?

I agree. Even a slight color difference would help.
