kaynesyduin
to the list I'll add a drying rack for making jerky and curing the hides & guts; a quiver for your arrows... temporary shelter [like a tent]; varying types of bags: satchels, sacks, backpacks [maybe some of them modular; were they combine to yield greater weight allowances]; navigation and record keeping implements, too. kaynesyduin
Oh... BINOs; I need my good buddy Ben Notglur--or a spyglass; or telescope. 'binoculars' for the irr-informed... aslo, a watch, be it of the wrist or pocket-kind; something human to carry and check--occasionally; not schedule... no itinerary; no deadlines; how else will we stay human? kaynesyduin
A wolf/wolves; as either sled-dogs... Or a lone hunting companion. Make their personality stubborn and volatile; have us fear a six dog mutiny.

Make their personality stubborn and volatile; have us fear a six dog mutiny.Attempting to capture and train a fully grown wolf would at best earn you a savaging and at worst one of you would be dead. The only way you could raise a wolf would be by capturing it as a puppy and hand raising it... and you'd still end up with that personality, even having it from birth. Wild animals are just that, wild. They're never fully tamed, even the ones that are specifically taken as babies to be kept as pets.

"domestication" isn't just "raise an animal to like humans", you are literally forcing the animal to evolve over generations. We are genetically-modifying an animal when we domesticate them. iSUGGESTthings
Barring cages and kennels and the whole domestication thing, rabbits and birds can be caught with /traps/. And hopefully other interact-able wildlife will be coming soon. But yes to all of the above! And oh god yes please backpacks that can carry more weight. Or at the very least some sort of crafting addition that lets you sew extra pockets into your clothes..PS. I really..really.. REALLY want the ability to craft a marker/flag/beacon/whatever you would call it. See that scarf in the title screen? The red one waving in the wind? Can we please craft something like that? Both to mark where we have been, find our way around, and provide a speck of visibility in terrible weather? Please? Kthx.
