As subjects says maybe add a map section where the player has to go through a heavy forest(jungle brush) of sort to find X? Resources needed to proceed - a decent chopper axe/blade. heavy clothing. food/water of course. gluck.

We already are located in either Coniferous rainforest (as indicated by this thread viewtopic.php?f=58&t=4090&p=23251#p23251), or in Coniferous Boreal Forest.

Both of which are pretty "heavy"

I think the OP is speaking to brush we just can't walk through easily. Right now the path is either a go or a no go. There is nothing akin to hacking your way through the woodline.

You could put in a machete then to hack through also.
