Cook time vs meat weight

First post. Apologies if this is already brought up somewhere but i couldn't find it in search.

So a 1 kg piece of meat takes 20 minutes to cook. If i have a smaller piece of meat I think this should take a proportionate amount of time. In more than a few instances I have gone to cook meat at the end of my fire after boiling water and accidentally chose my 0.1 kg piece to cook for the last 20 minutes of my fire. Sweet, just wasted my fire and energy cooking a 75 calorie piece of meat

Edit: I'm also playing on Xbox, so not sure if this is already fixed in newer steam version.
